She was a small town girl
never been very far
to church every sunday
after a night in the bar

on saturday morning
she plays the same part
buying all that she needs
and filling her cart

He was a city born drifter
only here for a time
looking for jesus
and a bottle of wine

one saturday morning
he caught her eye
she'll hold those dreams
until the day she dies

Close calls at the wal mart
on the paper goods aisle
he gave her a wink
and she gave him a smile

He told her he'd show her
but she didn't believe
she laughed at his offer
cause why should she leave

She still dreams
about that one day
what life woulda been like
had she run away

every saturday morning
she plays the same part
buying all that she needs
and filling her cart

Date: 8/3/2004 5:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 33286    this has a nice flow, any songs I write come out kinda flat because I don't actually play anything except the radio. a slight suggestion for you, in the third verse I like the thought of her looking for Jesus IN that bottle of wine.
