Well Since I was a fan of the orignal japanese verison i expected a lot when I hired this movie, and of course I was competly disapointed. They competly twisted the great storyline from the orignal movie. I did find it hard to swallow the story of the mother being the one who killed the girl, as every one who saw the orignal knows it was the dad after the mother died. If you never saw the orginal verison you'll enjoy it though.

Date: 6/14/2004 4:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 47618    Yeah...agreed...but then again the original Japanese "theatrical" movies were grossly different from the original novels...very grossly different.

Date: 6/14/2004 4:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 62146    I think the american version did the part where their heart stopped well with the flashes and stuff. and when people found the bodys the bodys looked frozen the japanes version just had the screen change coulor when their heart beat stopped and their bodys just had their mouths eyes wide open. but the japaneas version did have a more intringing plot. I noticed the 2 movies are identicall up untill the boat bit where she is on it when you see their is no hourse jumping into the sea that is when you see how different these 2 movies really are.
Date: 6/14/2004 5:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 47618    True...but do remember when they made the original they didn't exactly have the money to go the American way...it was a low budget film. Hence why it made it so big.

Date: 6/15/2004 2:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 47618    Agreed...the tv scene in the original was much more effective cause it didn't use high-tech digital effects and they went practical which made it seem much more realer.

Date: 6/24/2004 9:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 60089    I didn't like it that much. I want to see the orignial version though..
Date: 9/3/2004 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 62838    I've seen both versions... I loved both of them! Fantastic, they gave me a real fright lol Woohooo!!! - Kokoro
