Painting A Bedroom..

I have an open canvas. I just got a bedroom of my own, and i have nothing in it aside from my bed. But firstly i have to paint i, then work from there. I was thinking about a lighter golden yellow with a lighter on top using the sponge effect. or maybe a shade of red that isnt too alarming. but ive been wondering about what effects colors have on people and the mind. so far ive read that: Babies have been shown to cry more in yellow rooms, and people lose their tempers more in yellow rooms. but Thought of as a cheerful & optimistic color, yellow has proven to stimulate the brain, enhance concentration, and speed metabolism. It is associated with better decision-making, memory, self-esteem. & clear thinking

ive also being playing with the thought of painting one wall a different color than the others.

i being a sort of strange unique sort of person, i at this juncture refuse to paint my room pink.

please give me some room color suggestions or tips or facts you know about colors. -meltedspoon

Date: 6/13/2004 4:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    I've seen sponge painting befroe..and personally I didn't like it. Have you ever thought about feather painting..my friend has her whole house done in that and it is really nice
Date: 6/13/2004 4:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 18516    *sobs* my cardboard walls....I like the thought of painting one wall one color and then the others a different color. That would be cool yet different.
Date: 6/13/2004 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    I want to get a chalkboard wall since they have that chalkboard paint, so I could write all over it and then change it when I got bored with it. But right now, I have 3 walls painted peach and the other one is light orange/peach. It's kind of weird, I certainly didn't do it, it was here when we moved it. But it's okay, it's really sunny and happy especially in the morning...
Date: 6/13/2004 5:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 39258    mine is gray and i feel really mellow and relaxed in my room
Date: 6/13/2004 6:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    If your room is currently a dark shade remember to paint a coat of primer before you start painting the other color so that it will show up right. If your room is white or another light color right now you shoudln't have to worry about it. I like to change the colors of my house and room often. I've had my bedroom yellow, purple, white, blue, and I think I'm going to paint it mint green next.
Date: 6/13/2004 6:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    I Donno where you heard those yellow room facts but our bathroom is yellow it's open and cheery and it helps us wake up in the morning and adds a little pep... my livingroom is a deep dark green love the colour MANY compliments its a nice earthy tone.. kitchen is a mellow blue.... bedroom is small so i did stripes on the long walls to make it larger*L*... as you can tell i like paint... love colour grew up in a colourful room and home lived in an apartment 2 years which was white.... first thing i did when we bought our condo was PAINT!!!
Date: 6/13/2004 6:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 49976    I just painted my room turquoise with silver stars it loooks awesome.I think sponge painting is cool too..we did a wall in our living room.

Date: 6/13/2004 7:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 13897    murals!! i think you should paint a mural in your room. if not, i suggest going with blue and violets.. they are supposed to calm you which leads to better sleep. I lived in a blue and violet room for a few months and it was wonderful to sleep in.
Date: 6/13/2004 8:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 28190    My old room, which we are now converting into the nursery for our baby, is done in all mural paintings that I did throughout the years. I wouldnt change it for the world because the memories of the paintings and the thought of it being our babies first nursery and room just makes the paintings jump. Most of the room has unicorns and a few elvish people... then there are colorful frogs in a pond on one side and a castle on the other side I wish I could give you some suggestions or colors, but seeing as I did mine all mural, if thats not what ya are into, I cant help much. Sorry, but I do hope you find the answers you need Good luck with it hun *huge hugs*
Date: 6/14/2004 12:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 26452    I have my room painted blue, its dark, but yet its bright if that makes any sense at all lol.I love it, I had my room painted green, I hated it, it matched with nothing in my room lol. I choose blue because its always been my favorite color,my element is water, plus I'm not the most calm person in the world, and blue is a calm cool color. The blue matches eveything in my room, I love it. Next I am painting my living room midnight blue for my mom,our kitchen is painted light blue and yellow.
Date: 6/14/2004 11:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 32193    my walls are dark blue.. white cieling and white furniture
