I know it’s only for a while
And that you’ll be back again
My eyes won’t close as hard as I try
Lying here imagining you beside me
Your sweet laughter ringing inside

Anything that reminds me of you
Only makes it harder to rest
Then the thought of this ending
Brings my heart to a sudden stop
Hurting until I see your smile again

I wonder if you miss me too
Even though in my mind I doubt it
That is why I fear this separation
Even though we are no more than friends
I know I must wait and only hope

There is no rush, there is plenty of time
And if there is anyone I want to be happy
