Eye’s Shadow

Shiny lavender eyes
Don’t hear cries
But always devour prey
At their ever-loving play

Stalk the whole earth
To find truth in dearth
Must claw and scrap and tear
Just to keep the mind aware

No food or thought
All things can be bought
Ring it up a little faster
My mind is no longer master

Go to your dead end job
Work for someone named Bob
Hours spent day in and out
On the preformulated tout

My mind back at the wheel
Once again I can feel
Lavender eyes open once more
But the lids a little sore

Eye’s shadow commands
Color speckled hands
To paint the pulse
And I gladly convulse

Just let the pulse flow
Their isn’t much to know
What’s in the shadow, I paint
With entire being till I faint

I keep them from sight
They’d say it was trite
I can only be a mindless clerk
Time to go to work
