The purpose for sharing this information is to demontrate the true Nature of Goddess worship. Please let me begin by saying that there are as many denominations (called "traditons") of Wicca/Witch/Pagan belief systems, as there are in the more established, and familiar religions.
Let me begin:
The Charge of the Goddess is attributed to Doreen Valiente, a student of Gerarld Gardner. The poem, originally found in the Gardnerian Book of Shadows, is now loved by all witches as a statement of our reverence for the Goddess and Nature.
My comments, and the information that follows will be taken from her lovely poem. I will not be sharing the Charge of The Goddess here. But the following statements demonstrate the Universal Truths that all Wiccans believe:
" You shall be free from slavery, "-the promise here is that rather than a servant/master relationship, with the Goddess it is a teacher/student relationship....
"Sing, feast, dance, make music and love, all in My presence, for Mine is the ecstasy of the spirit and Mine also is joy on earth.
For My law is love unto all beings. "
Those who follow the Goddess are commanded to share in the pure joy, love, light and laughter of their communication with the Goddess. This is not a somber service!
We are also reminded that Wiccans are taught the first commandment is LOVE.
"I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal and beyond death I give peace and freedom and reunion with those that have gone before.
Nor do I demand aught of sacrifice, for behold, I am the mother of all things and My love is poured upon the earth."
Indeed-Wiccans are shown that life will not end, when we draw our last breath! And, we are shown that there is a promise to Wiccans that they shall be reunited with their loved ones. Like a human Mother, The Goddess offeres comfort in eternal life, and reminds her Follower that Her love is poured out upon all People. Please note: this promise in not only to a select group.
"Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold -- all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals. Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you."
This is what The Goddess commands of Her Followers. That the demonstration of the best the Human Condition has to offer, is what is pleasing to Her!
Far from being an "evil" self-serving, or manipulating Religion, is is one filled with the commandment to ".....Harm None."
Wiccans do not attempt to "convert" or seek out followers. The purpose of this information is to enlighten non-Followers to the True Nature of what Modern Goddess-Worshipping religions believe.
Even though these words shared by Doreen Valiente are not 2,000 years old, they have been practiced in one form or another equally as long, if not longer. Please enjoy!
How it changed my life:even though many groups have different ideas, practices, and rules, there are a few common threads that all practicioners follow.
The closest thing Goddess-worshipping groups share to a commandment
is the firm belief in the "Threefold Law". It is very simple: Love, Compassion, and Kindness are returned to people three times over. It can be a double-edged sword-for anger, hate, and worry, are also subject to the same threefold returns.
Therefore-there is a great responsibility in personal behavior. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 15070 ( Click here )
