What were you like in high school?

I guess this post might be for anyone that is over 20, but I was just thinking back to my school daze and was wondering what might have happened to some of my classmates and looking at where I am and all. It just got me wondering so I was also wondering if you all sometimes think about this, too and what were you like in high school compared to how you are now? I know I had the attitude that I would never have kids and now I have 2 sons. I was a bit of an outcast, but I still had alot of friends. I was in the "metal head" group, as they called it. We wore our metallica tshirts and long, silver earrings. And I am nothing like that now! It is just weird and interesting how people change!

Date: 6/4/2004 7:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 62100    Gosh- in high school I was very very shy- I would sit waaaay in the back, and I was quiet. I was dfeinitely much different than I am now- I have gotten a lot more secure with myself and speak up alot more now.
Date: 6/4/2004 7:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 62367    I was the kid with my nose stuck in a book all the time, usually a book about the Knights of the Round Table or something similar. I am still a lot like that girl, its just that I am older now. My vision and horizons are wider and not nearly so black and white. My idealism is tempered with reality now. Some things that I was afraid of then, I have been forced to confront or live through and somehow I survived. My friends are have raised their kids and are now on their way to being grandparents, except for those who have passed away. It astonishes me how many of my friends both close and casual did not make it to 20, 30, or 40. I attended several reunions but stopped in 1990 after losing 2 close friends. I do enjoy hearing from or about old classmates. I am still in contact with some of my old friends.
Date: 6/4/2004 7:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50758    I was pretty shy in high school also. I think I came out of my shyness around the age of 22!
Date: 6/4/2004 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    I was quiet. Never wanted to be called on, was pretty shy. Got made fun of alot, was pretty insecure. Now, Im totally different. I speak my mind, and I dont give a beeeeeeeeeeeep what people think about me. :P Love,
Date: 6/4/2004 8:58:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50758    I am the same way Green Eyes! Now I say what I want to say and WHO CARES!?! I used to be real passive.
Date: 6/4/2004 9:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 19460    well, i was one of those kids that just made friends with anyone. I wasnt real popular I dont think, but I ran with the headbangers (cant say what we were called on USM its not G Rated LOL) and with the Kikkers (aka cowboys). Everyone was friends except our group had a thing against the new wavers. I dont know why, but the 2 groups couldnt get along. I used to only wear black and white or earth tones. You very very very seldom caught me in colors unless my mom and dad forced me into it LOL Now I'm just me. Mom and wife with 3 kids. I coach little league baseball and I even wear pink sometimes! LOL I am totally different in the way I do things, but I'm still me!
Date: 6/5/2004 12:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 62588    My mom uses the word "backwards" (pronounced back-curds) to discribe anything from shy to mentally impared. that was me. I was socially impared, and had a hard time finding a group to fit into. I hated school, and hated myself. I didn't know how to dress (one day I went to dress up, and wore purple jeans, a teal sweater and white turtle neck - ouch!). Girls would stop me in the bathroom to fix my make-up, if I wore it, because they felt sorry for me. My hair was just gross (long and clean but with split ends and no curl). After school, a friend of the family worked with some other girls from my school - they told her they thought I was a snob!!! Anyways, now I am a lot better. I can dress myself and I love make-up (friends ask me to help them put it on). I like the straight look in my hair now, but it is time for a haircut. Great post, by the way!
Date: 6/5/2004 8:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 29928    I was just wild. You wudn't know it today, but back then I was. I remember one weekend, I had five dates with five dif guys. Not to tell on myself, but I was in HS during the hippie era and my dad was a cop, so I rebeled more than most.
Date: 6/5/2004 9:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 38601    I'm still in high school...i'm what you'd call a floater...I get along with everyone. However I stand out because of my clothes and all that and I'm actually very quiet, but I can't seem to not get along with people
Date: 6/5/2004 12:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 34912    Interesting post. I was a totally different person in highschool. I was a metalhead (in a school full of jocks and rednecks), I wore all black all the time, I had long hair, played in a band... lol. I never thought back then I'd be the person I am now.
Date: 6/5/2004 2:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 38406    I'm still in high school but I'm quiet and shy but sometimes I can be wild. I guess it depends on my mood. Thanks for posting!
Date: 6/5/2004 9:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    I was a total loaner. I was friends with whoever would be friends with me. Had a few friends from every crowd. I don't regret how I chose my friends but only how I let my family life ruin my schooling.
Date: 6/7/2004 5:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 62624    I had lots of friends. I guess that you could sayt that I was one of the popular kids. Student council, cheerleading, class officer. Gosh, how I would change things if I could go back.
