Put On Yor "Glasses" ~ Hey Larry ~

Day to day, we put in our time in our daily routines. Sometimes it may get boring, sometimes it may get irritating, or annoying. Sometimes it may seem like 9 to 5 is all you are living for.....

I know, 'coz I've been there.

Work need not be so oppressive, not when you can "Put On Your Glasses"!

By that I mean, try and see things a different way. As if you had a pair of glasses that were special. Does this seem too far fetched? Well, how often does one find escape in reading a book, for example?

In reading a book, you probably can recognize a character or two that you relate with. Well, in Harry Potter's case, he has a magic wand. That's all good when you are fictional. And so, in one's mind, how to react in today's world might not be too far off.

I use a pair of "Glasses" so to speak. To aid me to see the beauty from the beast. More often, without the glasses, I see the beast. But with "Glasses" on, I might be able to glean the "Beauty".

Without realizing it, we can get caught up in other's negative waves. Be it a bad day, or idle gossip, to extreme cases of walking off the job. Instead of allowing the negative to overtake your thought patterns, try wearing a pair of "Glasses" to help diffuse the matter.

By that I mean, look at the situation in a different way. Just because one person, a co-worker or a freind, is having a bad day, does not mean you should have to carry their load. It's ok to sympathize, and help to a degree. But once you see ( with your glasses on) that things are not going to change, then you know that you can only do so much to help.

Should you totally abandon the situation? Not neccesarily. But you can give it, and yourself a time away from it. Afterall, said person should be able to come to a decision of some sort. You cannot live another person's life.

Stay focused in the meantime. With your "Glasses" on, you are able to determine priorities versus secondary matters. This does not mean you should forsake your friends or co-workers, or whatever the occasion may present. It just means that you are being more alert to what takes more of your time.

You can only do so much, fix what you can, work on helping others, give them their chance to work things out, and perhaps give them something to think about in a positive way. Sometimes you may have to be a little firm on the issue. But hey, if they are your friend, they will at least try to listen and give it some thought.

So, how about it? Got your "Glasses" on?
