I haven't done it yet, but i'm going to teach myself Italian through a CD Rom kit I got and you can go visit a nursing home, they get a real kick out of young folks taking time to visit them and also you can go to the animal shelter and see the animals there |

There are places you can volunteer at, at your age. Try the local library, special needs schools, hospitals (candystriper program). I did all these things, it was great. |

What about a babysitting job- I know that here in NY my daughter who is 12 qualifies to babysit if she passes a Red Cross class and gets permission from us. That could be something that you could do to earn a little money for yourself. Also, are there any summer leagues sportys wise, or even a gym or park or just somewhere you could get together with friends?? |

You could check with your local hospital and see if the have some Volunteer work that you can do. I know that a few of the hospitals down here have what they call Candy Stripers which are volunteer. Some of the daycares might even have some type of volunteer work you can do. Well I wish you the best of luck with what ever you choose to do....Queen B |

Rule #1: If the job doesn't exist, make it! The summer of my 14th year I went to all the houses on my block and offered my services doing their yard work. I mowed lawns, pulled weeds, even dug a hole for a fish pond! By the end of the summer I had enough money to buy a car! |
