The next morning I stood on the side walk faceing Olivia Gerolds house,a sunny two story house painted a pale yellow with white shutters.Flowers where planted around the house and some hung in pots on the banaster and some sat down the stairs. It was comletely cheery yet she felt dread climb up her spine, from fear or dread she didn't know.As she headed up the stairs Arianna's heart began to pound loudly in her ears.Raiseing her fist she rapped on the screen door and waited with her hands clasped tightly before her. An elderly women in her eighties opened the door. Her snow white hair was pulled back into a long pony tail, her green eyes vibrant and belitteled her age.Her face showed deep laughlines and you could tell by her high cheek bones and stronge jaw that she was very beautiful in her youth and still quite pretty now.She wore a pair of stone wash jeans and a thin gree sweater. She smiled as she saw Arianna thought it froze in place and she looked almost close to tears.

"Mrs. Gerold are you ok?" Arianna asked as she reached out to touch the older woman's sleeve. Olivia shook her head and smiled.

"Yes dear you just reminded me of someone for a minute. Please come in." She stepped back and headed for the kitchen."And please call me Olivia,Arianna." Smileing Arianna fallowed her into the sunny kitchen where she sat down across from Olivia who had tea waiting for them.Picking up her cup she took a sip and smiled as the soothing mint tea soothed her dry throat.

"I was suprised when you called me to ask about a history project on this town.I'd figure you'd ask the mayor or someone who's family has been here there whole life." Arianna figgited in her chair and looked away from her smileing green eyes.

"Well Olivia I'm here about something else."She took a deep breath and let it out."I'm here about Isabella LeFay." Olivia's eyes became round as saucers as she set her tea cup down carefully afraid she might drop it. She looked away from Arianna.

"I don't know who your talking about.I can't be any help to you there."Oliva said never takeing her eyes off the window. Arianna reached across the tabel and took the older woman's hands.

"Please.I need to know.I know you worked for them I saw your husbands grave in there graveyard..." olivia's eyes jerked towards her indicision warring in her eyes. "Please Olivia.....Isabella needs you." Arianna spoke tears filling her voice. That deep waring sadness washed through her as she looked into Olivia's sea green eyes.

"You remind me so much of her.If she had lived to grow up you could of been her twin."She reached out to brush her fingers through Arianna's hair with a gental hand."She was such a sweet child, everyone loved her.I loved her like she was my own child. Her parents doted on her to excessiveness."The older woman sighed looking directly into the younger girls eyes."What is it you wish to know?"

"I want to know how she died. Did they ever catch him?" Arianna squeezed Olivia's hands in earnest. Olivia's shoulders slumped forward as if she carried a terriabel weight on her shoulders.

"No one knows for sure quit how Miss Isabella died but I know...God have mercy I know...."

To be continued.
