Army of Darkness

Army of Darkness is a movie in case you're wondering. It was made in 1992 and was written and produced by Bruce Campbell. It is the third of the Evil Dead movies but you don't need to see the prceding films to understand this one. I didn't.

Ok, first things first. The plot. Fairly simple and original plot. After a run in with some demons in the present day. Well, not present day. It was present day then, in the 80s. It's the past but it was present day when the film was made. Anyway, the main character, Ash(Campbell), is sucked through a portal and he and his '78 Buick were transported back to the 1300s. The demons he encountered were accidentally conjured by the book of the dead, the Necrinomicon. So here's the deal. In order for Ash to return to his own time, he has to take the Necrinomicon from it's cradle in the woods beyond the kingdom he lands in. He then gives it to the midevil guys so they can use it to defeat the Army of Darkness and send Ash home. But everything goes horribly wrong.

In order for Ash to safely remove the Necrinomicon from it's cradle, he has to say the words, "Clata Varata Nicto." But he messes up and the Army of Darkness awakens. That's about all I can say without making the movie horrible for you.

Keep in mind this movie is incredibly cheesy and "B"ish because it ways made that way. It is, however, hilarious and the cheese just compliments its humor. The majority of the funny parts in this movie and the one-liners. These include, "Good guy, bad guy. I'm the guy with the gun," and, "Shop smart, shop S-mart," and of course, "Clata Varata Nicto." This film also includes Ashes "boomstick speech."

It's a funny and all around cool movie that I recomend to anyone. It is rated R for mild violence and the F word is used once. It was made in 1992. So if you're bored one night, and you feel like renting or buying a random movie, make it Army of Darkness.

It has motion sensor so when its on he says some of the lines from the movie. My son thinks I'm cool!!! I love Bruce Cambell too. You got to see Bubba Hotep thats coming out to buy this week! Its more of that entertaining subtle humor.

The first one is my favorite..i love the time period in which they filmed it..it just made it seem so classic to me. THey seemed to have a much bigger budget on this one than they did the first one. I have them on DVD and i LOVE to watch the first one and listen to the audio commentary by Bruce and Sam. It rocks! I love the evil dead!
