Annie had been sick with the flew all week and spent much of her time in bed. Her mother and father both had day jobs as she was left alone to take care of herself. On this day in particular the weather outside became stormy and the harsh winds pelted the heavy rain at her window in a rhythmic pattern. She gazed out at a nearby tree that was swaying its long branches, just then she could see an image of a shadowy man emerge his figure coming closer to the front door. " Knock, Knock, Knock" ..."Hello?... I have a package to be delivered her." Annie stepped a bit towards the door ever so cautiously... " Who is it from?" she asked politly...there was no reply. " who is there, what do you want?" Annie quarrried with much more tone to her voice, still she heard nothing... suddenly a strong clap of thunder was heard ringing through the skies, the lights in the house flickered a bit. Annie ran to a different window which had a better view of the front door, but with all of the rain and drizzle all she could see was a big box sitting motionless as the pouring drops of water hit it from every side. Once again the thunder exploded outside like the roar of a cannon miss guided in flight. again the lights made a flutter. Annie decided against her good judgement she would slowly open the door... as she did she quickly whipped her head from left to right, no one was there "Thank God" she thought to herself. She then extended her shakey little hands to grab the drenched box and in a the blink of an eye she pulled it into the house and shut the door. Just as she did so the box twitched on its own at that exact same moment the thundering clouds called out loudly once more this time rendering the house with no lights. Annie ran out of the house and into the dark wet day, as she turned to look back she could see the box was now open and through the paleness of the screendoor she could make out the vague apperence of a raggedy clown, it couldn't be any taller than two feet. "come back in my dear, it's wet and cold out there" it said in a raspy voice, "what the hell are you?" Annie announced very loudly. "Why I'm your Jack in the box, sent here to bring you nice thoughts, and to grant you with three wishes, but be careful my dear as my power thrives on your fear, much like a promise or empty kisses"..."okay' replied Annie "I wish I were in there and you were out here" no sooner than she said it Annie found herself in the house looking out at the raggedy clown who was now dancing about in the downfall of natures' water garden, Annie giggled a bit her fear now beyond her..."Your a crazy little clown' she said..."Jack" answered back " yes crazy like a fox, you still have two wishes and then I must return to the box" Annie's mind was blank "what do I want" she thought out loud, by now the clown was doing cartwheels what a specticale indeed.....To Be Continued....Do you think the clown should be deciving and turn against her twisting Annies wishes around or should part 2 take a happy ending approch having "Jack" be her new friend? ....take care...~Your Huckleberry~
