I need help with a PC problem

I am trying to make something in PSP. The problem is, when I click new and try to start a new project, it says I don't have enough memory.

I know I do though. I have 128 mb. I know it isn't a lot, but my hubby plays games that require a lot more than what I'm trying to do in PSP and he doesn't have any problems. I disabled everything that isn't necessary and it didn't help. I even rebooted. The project isn't huge or anything.

It also says I might need to adjust my memory settings. Can anyone tell me how to go about doing that? I use windows 95.

I can't figure out what is going on. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Apryl

Date: 5/3/2004 10:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36901    We used a 'window washer' and defragged this past weekend. I'll try that again though. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try anything! It's nice to 'see' you. How are ya?

Date: 5/3/2004 10:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36901    Things here are going pretty good. I can sympathize because I have a cold as we speak. I've had it for about a month now. I think it's because of the weather. One day it's hot, the next it's freezing. It's really weird.
Date: 5/3/2004 10:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 38849    I am guessing PSP = Paint Shop Pro, and it could still possibly be the amount of memory that is the cause of the problem. I guess this maybe the case if nothing else is running in the background. --
Date: 5/3/2004 11:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36901    I did some searches and found this on the web [The PSP is used
by DOS and must be loaded in conventional memory. If Windows
cannot load a PSP in conventional memory, it will issue an
"Insufficient memory to run application..." error.]. It tells you how to disable things in DOS, but I'm not comfortable doing that, so I guess I'm just out of luck.
