Good Morning USM :)

While all the nasty viruses run amuck, and me not having great knowledge of these nasty little buggers, does anyone know if there are programs out there that actually prevent viruses from coming through??

With most or all(that I am aware of) programs, they catch the virus after it has entered your computer or blocks it in email.

I am getting hit left and right with viruses and the most popular one is that stinking 'your startpage may be infected' crap. I keep getting rid of it and its like the ball in the movie 'The Changeling', it just keeps coming back! Not to mention many others.

So, anyone know of virus programs that I can BUY that will make it so I dont even know I had a virus entering and that I dont have to remove myself??? (if such a thing exists)

Anyone? Anyone?

ZooKeeper

Sheesh, I feel like I need to put my computer in a bubble.

Date: 5/2/2004 8:13:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62136    Thanks WoodShed...That is the program I am using now. I do like it, however, I was just wondering if there were any programs that actually prevent viruses from getting on to the computer. AVG is alerting me once they are in and already doing damage. <shrugs> I just wish there was some way I could prevent this. Its getting super annoying having to remove these bugs on a daily basis. Thanks again
Date: 5/2/2004 9:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 49689    There really isn't much you can do..other than keep your anti-virus software running at all times, and keeping the signature files updated,as they are released..The use of a firewall will help protect you from worms entering your computer,if it's configured correctly, and you use it to block any unneeded ports....Practicing safe computing will help too, don't open e-mails from people that you don't know..Don't visit websites in the Netherlands of the internet,as they usually have some sort of IE exploit ..Ususally a Java or a Javascript exploit of some sort
