Ladykillers........................B. Monkey

I'm going to surprise myself with these first couple of words....It had too much curse words. I couldn't believe it! Have you ever had it all laid out for you, you are given the characters, and you are given their main duty in the movie and you watch them work. Since everyone just loves Lord of the Rings, imagine if Frodo called himself a racist slur word every second and tossed around the F' word on every move. Have you ever wished that you could just go in real quick and fix what is wrong with the movie yourself? This movie sort of reminded me of a kid at school that doesn't fit in and when the cool kids walk around the corner they suddenly talk loud and cuss a lot. With that being said here is my review.

Tom Hanks, I love him and he really chewed up some scenery with this one. The man is one of the best ever and I'm lucky to live in his heyday and watch him glow onscreen. He's really funny. He is the mastermind of a burglary that has to involve the house of a religion devoted Mississippi black woman. He gathers a ragtag lot of 4 people who answered an ad to heist a gambling boat that is connected, by a tunnel they will make, to the woman's house.

He's gathered an (now these are stereotypes that they picked) Oafish neanderthal type guy, A loudmouthed cursing Black guy, a man with irritable bowel syndrome that can easily blow up stuff (no pun intended) and an Asian mastermind of what we don't know, but he can do cool tricks with cigarettes and kill or stifle with tricks that would make Pei Mei of Kill Bill fame blush.

So watch these guys work together to pull of the heist....can they do it.....will the elderly religious Black woman interfere? Well watch and see, and well the title is Ladykillers after all.

Here goes with recommendations....I would actually recommend this...but! Here are some of my problems, like aforementioned, really what is up with the cussing. And I hate hearing the N' word, but it is tossed around so much in here that you just get angry, I don't care what race you are. I think that Marlon Wayans is a great actor (before you snicker check out the movie Requiem for a Dream and then tell me if you are still laughing) but he wastes himself by basically just doing the same character he did from Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In the Hood.

So if you can go into this tuning out a majority of the curse words and racial slurs it's really enjoyable and so so funny. If you loved the brand of humor of a movie say like Raising Arizona or the Big Lebowski (which was also incedentally chock full of cuss, but that was different) then this is up your alley, it is afterall made by the Coen brothers that helmed those movies. Also if you want to see Tom Hanks just let loose, it is really funny, the man is a true comic, he's been dealt serious cards in movies but the man is funny and he gets to show his wit in this one.

p.s. I'm not a cussing prude, I usually am a regular ol' 'sailor' when it comes to cussing, movies like Goodfellas (chock full of them), love them, but they just about seem necessary, but there was something different about this
