I feel the same way. I had a school dance about a month ago (not a prom just a regular dance) and I had a great time with my friends but once the slow songs started to play I went into depression. A part of me likes to be single so I can be free to go where ever I want too but a part of me wants a boyfriend to have for slow dances and to hang out on weekends. My junior prom is in a year and at my school the junior prom is sometimes bigger than the senior prom so right now I'm trying to find a date cause I don't want to go alone. It's never to early to start looking. Thanks for posting!  |

Yep. Both genders do. I'm a guy and I experienced that before. And, people of all ages can get like that. Thing is, you can find out that you don't HAVE to be like that, even if you have no one at the present time.  |

Lol I like how mostly girls answered  . I have that feeling too, I mean Im only 16 but I dont want some little 'fling' I wanna fall in love, actual love not that confusion between 'like' and 'lust' so many people under 20 (and sometimes even 30!) get! Of course that doesnt mean Id turn someone down but I just wanna feel loved and special.  |

I'm not a guy so I can't really answer your question, but I used to feel that same way at school dances. I think most people do. I think girls will be more likely to ADMIT they feel like that, though. When I got a bit older, I didn't have school dances anymore, but I would still feel sad and lonely sometimes, when I would see couples around. It's not so "in your face" as at dances, however. lol I'm married now, and I still feel kinda lonely when I see a couple, and my hubby's not with me!  |
