I recently did a paper for a class about UFO's. I found a lot of interesting information, including what I am about to talk about today. Many of you may have seen the movie "Fire in the Sky", which is based on the abduction of Travis Walton in November of 1975. Here is a brief summary of his story.
In November of 1975, a group of tree-trimmers were driving home from work in Arizona. The driver of the truck stopped when he noticed a flying saucer hovering in some near by trees. Travis Walton got out of the truck and approached the craft. He was knocked to the ground by a blue and white light. The men were scared, they left him there, but later returned when they came to their senses. Travis was nowhere to be found. A massive manhunt was launched to look for him, but not a trace was found. Five days later Travis returned and stated that he had been abducted.
He was attacked by the press. He and the other men who were with him at the time of his abduction took lie detector tests to prove they were telling the truth. Travis failed the first test. But he passed all the ones that were later given to him. Everyone else passed the tests as well, with the one exception being inconclusive. Looking back, polygraph experts explain how he could have failed the test-- he was under extreme stress AND the fact that the polygraph test that was used on him was 30 years outdated, and has since been proven to show an extremely high number of false positive errors. He has since passed several other lie detector tests.
It is HIGHLY unlikely that so many ordinary, working men could pass the lie detector tests if the story were false.
What do you think about this?
