Science, Christianity, or some different religion?..........................Autopilot

I've seen so many posts that discuss this indirectly, so I've decided just to make this debate and let you guys run with it. I'm really on the edge of neutral on this, but you all seem so sure of your opinions, I don't think you'll mind sharing them? I'm trying to hunt down the truth, so I hope you'll help by participating in this debate. Please, if your not sure of a theory of some sort, don't say you are. It just makes you look bad. I'm not saying you have to prove religion with science, i'm asking you to not say something historical or scientific you don't know is a fact, unless you state it is not a fact. Thanks.

Date: 4/26/2004 4:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    one thing I will say is the division of Christianity is due to man made religions...and if people shed themselves of the religious differences and simply unite under the Love of Christ, it would make it easier for others to realize the truths instead of only noting the ugly divisions.
Date: 4/26/2004 4:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    but now that I posted that comment, I'm sure it will be up for debate, and that's why I don't debate my faith or God, because it's nonsensical to me to debate something proven to me time and time again...usually on a daily basis through the mutual respect for Love.
Date: 4/26/2004 4:40:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    But there are so many who don't believe christ was the son of god, and how can anyone disprove them?
Date: 4/26/2004 4:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    no one can...you have to believe what you feel strongest in your heart...but I'm a feeler and idealist, so these were just my ways...I FEEL the Spirit Rush through me...I cannot deny these feelings, regardless of what anyone says...even so-called proof could not make me doubt this special place in my heart and who it is...I believe that each culture simply has their own versions of the truth...and their scriptures are just as valid, IMO as the KJV Bible...yadi yadi yada...I ramble too much
Date: 4/26/2004 5:00:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    Thats a very nice way to look at it, spacecase
Date: 4/26/2004 6:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    I seriously do not understand the question that you are asking. I am sorry.
Date: 4/26/2004 6:52:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    Spirit child, what do u believe in, and why?
Date: 4/26/2004 6:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    I have written many posts here about my belief(s), and my Spiritual journey. If you cannot find them under my Author ID#, a Google Search will help. Just use the keyword: ladyspiritguide, or LSG
Date: 4/27/2004 11:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 62060    I believe in a mix of science and creationism. Science has yet to prove a cause of the big bang, a cause for that first multiplication of a single cell. Religion has given me these answers, I suppose.
Date: 4/27/2004 11:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    Science has rules to follow, faith/religion isn't bound to such things, in religion if something happens then something happens.
Date: 4/27/2004 1:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    But rodtod, how does science explain creation. The big bang could not have just ''happened'', no more then anything in religion.
Date: 4/29/2004 4:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    Scientific research is always being done, sure someone can come and say "oh, some powerful being did it", but thats not very reliable nor would that thinking helped through out the ages, or we'd still be dying from illness that are curable now.
Date: 4/29/2004 1:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    But until someone comes up with theory that doesnt involve god, what else is there to believe?
Date: 4/30/2004 10:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    But why jump to conclusions because it puts your mind at ease? Wouldn't it be worth the effort to find out the mechanism behind why somethings happen?
Date: 4/30/2004 12:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62599    heh, rodtod, If someone managed to discover the truth behind the universe, id jump on there bandwagon right away. Has it is, no one has done that.
Date: 5/1/2004 11:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 57225    I don't really believe in anything.
Date: 5/1/2004 11:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 55967    "But there are so many who don't believe Christ was the Son of God, how can anyone disprove them?" No one can. That is why there is conflict. It seems to me that the underlying real issue unfolding in this debate is whether or not an unseen realm can and/or does exist beyond the physical one that we can see and touch with our physical eyes and bodies. Perhaps that issue should be the first point of departure on your journey to finding what is really True. Science cannot disprove it, yet it cannot be proven to the physical world through the criteria of scientific investigation which demands physical evidence across the board for those who only choose to look at the evidence in that way (physically)and who choose not to investigate anything beyond the physical for themselves. The very nature of an unseen world---if it exists---requires a single person to be open to its possibilities and begin searching for it for him/herself. There are, actually, many scientific discoveries that do in fact connect to the possibility of an unseen world around and in us.
