The Recording Angel

In some of my other stories and comments posted to other stories you may have noticed me state"If the veil were to be swept back between the seen and unseen world." What does this mean in layman's terms? Unknown and unseen by most there is an unseen world inhabited by evil spirits and angels of the Lord. These angels good and evil alike have influenced the affairs of mankind throughout the course of Earth's history. As the saying goes we by human nature have a tendency to take much for granted. The Lord not only has angels who minister, protect, and influence the affairs of man but He also has angels who are appointed the awesome task of recording the deeds of the sons of men. In other words everyone who has ever lived throughout Earth's history angels have not only recorded their deeds but every word spoken out of their mouth has been recorded too. What does all of this mean to you? Here is a classic example how do you feel when your boss on your job tells you your evaluation is coming soon? Makes you a little nervous doesn't it? For you high school and college students how do you feel when your teacher or professor tells you your grades will be given to you soon? Doesn't it make you a little nervous and uneasy? Your evaluation given by your boss will determine how far you will advance in your career. The grades you earn in high school or college will determine how far you will succeed in your educational career.

For the sake of argument and I am going to assume you the reader fully understand what I am talking about lets take it a step further. Imagine if you will a being recording everything you say and do every single day of your life whether done under the cover of darkness or in the openness of daylight? Not some things but absolutely every single word spoken and every single deed you've committed being recorded until the day you die? Personal diaries, biographies, and autobiographies pale in comparasion to what the recording angel appointed by the Lord writes about you daily with terrible and unerring accuracy. Things you have said and done in the past which you may have forgotten about has been faithfully recorded by the appointed angel to bear before the Lord Of Hosts that will weigh against you in the day of judgment. Sad is the record that angels must bear to Heaven because of mankind's rebellious and sinful nature. Many of us think and this is a terrible deception on many people's part that just because they may have killed someone, committed robbery, rape, or any other criminal act and have gotten away with it believe that no one will ever catch nor see them but unaware by most angels have faithfully recorded their terrible deeds for all eternity presented before the Lord.

"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." Ecclesiastes 12:14.

If the veil were to be swept back for you the reader right now and you were permitted to see an angel recording the deeds and words of mankind what would you think? If this same angel were to show you some of the things written about you with terrible accuracy what would you say then? It is because of the Lord's everlasting mercy, longsuffering, and grace that most of us don't see this taking place because if we did it would be very frightening. In the courts of Heaven there exists a place called The Hall Of Records where books are kept on every person who has ever lived with their name stamped on that book by the recording angel. The Hall Of Records is just like a library where angels go to and from the Earth with reports on daily activities written on every person describing their words and deeds in detail. Your motives and attitude has been recorded for good or bad. Those who have accepted Christ in their lives and become saved the recording angel erases all of their recorded sins out of that book written on them with their name on it. Everything you say and do is literally being recorded for all eternity and if you have rejected Christ these things written about you by the recording angel will be used against you when you face the Lord of hosts in judgment someday.

Those who like to tell dirty jokes, insult another person, gossip, lie, falsely accuse someone, and verbally abuse their fellow man angels have recorded every single word spoken. Jesus says:"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." Matthew 12:36. This principle not only applies here and now but Jesus further states and this is a fact of life:"For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matthew 12:37. In other words your mouth can get you seriously hurt or killed. Many a friendship and marriage has been lost because of someone gossiping, spreading rumors, and saying things they had no business saying. It really behooves all of us to always be careful what we say out of our mouths because your words are just as powerful as your actions and what you say will affect you for all eternity.

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." Revelation 20:12.

The book of life is a book containing the names of every person who has ever lived throughout Earth's history. Those whose names are written in the book of life will receive eternal life. It is only by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) who was slain from the foundation of the world that those who have kept the commandments of the Lord through Him their names will not be blotted out of the book of life. Other books besides the book of life are the book of sins and the book of rememberance. The book of sins is just what it says. Every sinful act you've ever committed has been faithfully recorded in that book with your name beside it. The book of rememberance is a book containing the good deeds done that is pleasing before the Lord. Those who turn over their lives to Christ and become saved their names are placed into the book of life and their sins are blotted out. Those who stray away from the Lord or deny Him before mankind their names are taken out of the book of life and placed in the book of sins. Those who return unto the Lord and confess His name before man their names are reinstated back into the book of life by the recording angel. The same goes for those who knowingly and willfully commit acts displeasing unto the Lord;their names are excluded from the book of life and are placed in the book of sins instead. It is a common misconception by many that it is ok to go out here and commit wrongful acts against their fellow man knowing that it is wrong and at the same time ask the Lord for forgiveness.

The Lord will not hold you guiltless if you willfully and knowingly commit wrongful acts against your fellow man. The Lord is longsuffering, merciful, and full of everlasting grace but that doesn't mean one can trifle with His everlasting mercy and grace. The Lord in His infinite wisdom will overlook you if you commit a wrongful act and you are not aware that what you've done was wrong but when it is made known to you and you continue He will not excuse you from such actions. Those who willfully remain ignorant of the Lord's word and reject His precepts the same will not be excused. It is important to understand that those who have turned over their lives to Christ should always strive to follow His perfect example daily and do those things that are written therein and confess and forsake all of your known sins because if you cling on to any known sin regardless how big or small it may seem you will not be presented blameless before the Father in Heaven and your name will not be written into the book of life until all of your known sins have been forsaken. This is what Jesus meant when He said He wants your garments to be as white as snow without any wrinkle, spot, or blemish. We all have choices to make in life because the Lord has given all of us the gift of a free will so I say to you the choice is yours.
