What Would It Take to Be A Legend? ..:)(:SpaceCase

When I was a young girl, I marveled over Legends such as Paul Bunyan, John Henry, Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, and Joan of Arc. I always daydreamed of being a legend and riding a twister or being the fastest gun in the wild west.

Today we have different Legends, such as Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, Billie Holiday, Roy Rogers, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, The Beatles, and Elvis...

But the real frontiersmen of this century, in my opinion, are doing so behind the scenes.

Like Benjamin Franklin and Eli Whitley, Thomas Edison and Albert Einstien, the unsung heroes of the new millenium we have become so comfortable in, are inventors.

Constantly at work creating better medicines and reaching solutions with new technologies and formulas, Scientists advance our world by leaps and bounds.

So I just want to take a moment to thank the inventors and future Legends. May you be fully acknowledged for all you do to help make life better for the living!!! May your names live on far beyond your time.

Thank God for your interests and intellegence and deep concern for human welfare.

Add some legends....share your thoughts....forgive a ramblin' woman.

(I can't sleep, I miss my man! He says he'll be home before Mother's Day *crosses fingers*

How it changed my life:

Well...in my case, it is the advanced technology in the neonatal unit that saved Mikey's life....and fantastic doctors and nurses, of course :) Thank God for caring doctors and nurses everywhere too!

Date: 4/26/2004 6:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 62506    Modern science played a part in my still being on the planet.A cure was found for San Juaquin Valley Fever. I had this disease for 26 years and it almost took my like when it caused an annurism.A medical team and the new cure(ampiterricin B)effectively gave me a new life.I will not discount the power of prayer, nor the healing power of Gods hands in my case.Do I see these entities as heros.Absolutely!Wonderful post Stacie.I can relate to your exhuberance when it involves your sweet little boys life. You and Mike are truly blessed to have such a beautiful family.
When I see a family go through so much turmoil as yours has and you manage to hold it together with sheer strength of character and aboundant love...you become my heros.(((many huggz)))~Uncle
