Im thinking of downloading one of those programs now. Does anyone know anything about SpyHunter? Or I might try the spybot one. Hopefully nothing bad will happen to my computer. I tried downloading something before..I forget what it was..it cleans out your computer and it gave me the blue screen. |

AVG is the one that I downloaded before but it messed up my computer some how. I got the blue screen and I ended up deleting it. |

I totally agree...we took our computer in several months ago to get fixed...and they said we needed SpySweeper from WebRoot.com...I had never even heard about spyware or adware before that...Now I'm really glad we have that software...Love and Hugs...GBU...ICL~*~*~  |

I use Spybot, and it has an added feature in it. You can "immunize" your machine so that the adware programs are not downloaded in the first place, you can "lock" your home page so that it cannot get changed by trojans or other webpages (you can change it yourself through control panel though) and you can also lock your internet explorer control panel from within internet explorer. This means that program cannot change your settings to make your PC easier to attack. The other bonus, ITS FREE, though there is a donation scheme in progress if you wish to post a check  |

I recently downloaded Spy Bot and the Sweeper one.. They work GREAT!! ANd are not hard to use.
PLUS they are free. You would reall be amazed at the amount of this stuff that gets on your computer with just one use of surfing. It is really nuts the first run I had over 2000 files and like 20 programs that were spy ware.  |

You have to be careful what spyware and adware programs you download. Alot of the ones on the internet are spyware and adware in themselves. I suggest Ad-aware and Spybot search and destroy. Both are free and work great!  |
