Hello, Dolphin Witch Thank you, my friend. I'm sure that you know by now, I am a freak for music..hehe..I think that one of our great accomplishments is the "Sony Walkman." I slipped the "Rolling Stones" cd in there and they belted out "Gimme Shelter." That somehow brought to mind long-dormant memories of an old plantation house on the river near my father's property..Voila!..hehe..I'm happy that you enjoyed, lady. Stay sweet |

We had a place like this down the road from my grandparents house. Scary, but we always had to take a walk down by it every time we were visiting. Great writing. Be Good... |

Your poems and pictures are so eloquently different, from others, amazes my what *rolls* through that mind of yours. I used to clean homes & the one that mezmorized me the most was the plantation home, origional from slavery, spooked me out of my skin, but yet amazing, glad I only had to clean it once, lol! |

Hello, Wise Thanks for checking out the words, my friend. The home I spoke of in this poem was on a sugarcane plantation down on the Bayou Teche in Louisiana. When I was a youngster, it was pretty much in ruins, but has since been totally redone...See ya.. |

Hiya, Aimless Believe it or not, I once picked cotton in the fields that surrounded the old home. Really, I'm not kidding..hehe...In fact, my first view of the old place was during one of those "cotton-pickin'" episodes. Mother had a farmer friend who planted cotton in the area. I was probably the worst cotton-picker in La...hehe..The most that I could muster (in between my play times) was fifty pounds a day..At two cents per pound, I earned....one whole dollar! Oh Lordy!..hehe..Thanks for checking out the words, dear lady. You always make me feel special...See ya.. |
