Yes, they are correct about Karen. Michael(Scarecrow)had an alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, Now it is too much to explain here what went on with him. But, It's a natural body substance that keeps other substances in your body from destroying tissue your lungs and liver. If you don't have alpha 1-antitrypsin, well, those tissues will be destroyed pretty much. He struggled with this his whole life from what I understand. And while I have known him, it got progressivly worse. If you do research on it, you will see that there are alot of different complications that can arise from this deficiency. I remember when he told me about it, I went and read some different literature on it...and if I recall correctly, it affects something like 3 or 4 ppl out of 1000...I think that qualifies it as being rare.
