The Goddess’s Call

I hear you call my name
And I sit straight up in bed
My eyes dart around the room
As the voice spins in my head

I slowly make my way
Onto my feet and out the door
Feeling oh so scared
Feeling so unsure

Am I hearing voices in my head?
Am I going mad?
What’s happening?
Have I done something bad?

No one else is awake
As it’s dead midnight
My heart beats faster and faster
From the terrible fright

I head back into my room
And read a book the next day
To read it wasn’t my parents calling me
Because in the books words it would say

If you wake up
From hearing a distant call
Of you own name towards you
From no one at all

It was not from no one
But from some someone new
It was the Goddess calling
And she was calling you
