I thought whack was just a slang term. Like whacking someone, but I didn't take it seriously in the poem. And whacking someone (here in Texas) could mean "They got whacked"...meaning they got killed, or "If you keep on doing that, I'm gonna whack you"....but that means more like "If you keep doing that, I'm gonna bop you over the head."
