There once was a family of nine. The father, his mother and brother all passed away due to heart failure, his father and sister from strokes. The mother of this family and her parents and sister all fell victim to cancer. Now the kids of these two people: Child #1 Died of cancer. Child #2-cancer with a recurance 23 years later-survivor. Child #3-Cancer,recurrance 7 years later-survivor. Child #4- Died of cancer. Child #5- Two bouts with pre-cancerous conditions-Survivor. Children #6 & 7- so far clean bill.

Now the medical personnel working with the remainder of this family recommend that they have genetic testing done to see if they have the cancer gene, (not to mention the heart problem). So far none have done so. It's a hard decision to make.

So what would you do if this was you? Could you live with the knowledge that someday you too would fall victim to the cancer that runs rampent through this family?

Date: 3/3/2004 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I say find out that way I know if I need to get tested LOL...I don't plan on getting life insurance so it won't matter for me...LOL
Date: 3/3/2004 8:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    Even if they dont get those tests they should atch their health closely. My mom and I both had female cancer, mom died, my dad died of cancer thats enough to watch my children closely.

All 3 were a different type of cancer! Have I had cancer? Yes 2 different kinds! Would I do kemo & radation? Noooo! I chose the natural way! I chose to do Essaic! Am I cancer free right now? Yes! 5 years! I know essaic is illagle in the usa! Do I do it every day yes! Thank God for my special Candian friends! Or I might be dead long time ago! My mom she is cancer free too! You can do something about it! Ya have to reach out beyond the medical world in my opinion! Trust in God & Mother God Azna! Life is so precious don't live in fear or darkness! You all have a choice!
Date: 3/3/2004 8:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 47296    My father's family has a history of heart attacks and strokes, and my dad died of cancer. I do not worry about it, but live each day for that day.
Date: 3/3/2004 8:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    Ps do a search on google about essaic & learn what ya can!
Date: 3/3/2004 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 44960    You know, in reality, while I am typing this, I am actually moving that much closer to death. Death is a given, whether it be by cancer, heart disease, accidents or anything else. I wish to live a long and healthy life, but I myself may be stricken with a deadly disease at any time. When our time on this earth is done, then we are going to die, no one knows when that time may be. So, I'm going to enjoy what little time I do have here, for I never know when my time will be up. Date: 3/3/2004 8:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50499    Moon, I don't live in fear about it. I simply can't decide if I should have the testing done. Partly because why bother and partly because of insurance. Not sure about mine but some companies won't cover you if you have the test done and then end up with it.
Date: 3/3/2004 9:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    I do so understand! Perhaps it would be better to live to the fullest! Be healthy! Don't drink & don't smoke! Exercise! Eat healthy! Be happy! Laughter is the best medicine of all!
Date: 3/3/2004 9:18:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50499    Well Moon 3 out of 5 ain't to bad. Need to do better. DragonFlyer
Date: 3/4/2004 3:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 48812    i would have the tests done, so if i *DID* have the gene, i could prepare for what was necessary. And if i didn't, halleluja.
Date: 3/4/2004 6:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 18527    I got tested to see if I had the ALS gene that dad and grandpa died from
Date: 3/4/2004 8:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 58611    I would want to know so that I could taylor my lifestyle around the outcome.

Date: 3/4/2004 8:58:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 50499    Thank you all for your thought on this subject. I'm sure it will help me decide what's best for me.
Date: 3/4/2004 1:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 55903    you really wouldn't want to get me started on a topic like this.
Date: 3/4/2004 3:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 62367    Yes, I would be tested. Some people deal better with knowing than others.
Date: 3/5/2004 3:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 62593    That's sacry--I think that I would defintely look into it-- Better to find out then sit and worry.
Because if you don't have it--You're going to be living with the fear of it. ~Satori Crush
