I got to thinking yesterday and today and thought I would share something wit USM about a sweet little girl I know. Lynsy is 11 years old and she is blind. She has so far had 7 eye transplants. Not only is she blind, she has a genetic disease called Chromosone 23 (i think thats what it's called). She is so full of life and triesto do everything a normal child her age does.
She used to think of her blindness as something that was holding her back from being normal. Recently she has decided that maybe normal isn't all it's cracked up to be. We tell her that she is luckier than most. She can look at people without actually seeing them. She can't see what people look like and she can't see the way that some, even adults, look at her eyes and writher like a chill just an up their spine. No, she can't say "Oh that person is ugly", or "Wow that person is too fat to be wearing THAT!", like alot of us do. She can only look with her heart.
She is the best friend maker, the silliest of kids, and the most smiling person I know. I wish more people could be like Lynsy. She will tell you in a flash that God loves her, and chose to give her this special gift of blindness. I have to say that she is a role model, even to me.
Tomorrow night, Lynsy is going to sing a song called Mirror (Reflection) in a talent show. She is so excited! She said she only hopes to win an award so that when she gets up to accept th award she can give God all the credit for making her be able to see without eyes, and to sing like no one is listening.
Anyways, I just wanted to share a little about this amazing child. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 19460 ( Click here )
