Well, I'm trying to print out something for school and I get the error message "The printer is not ready. Make sure it is turned on and online." Well, it is on but what does it mean by online?? Never been good at this stuff. Any idea on how to fix it?

Date: 3/3/2004 6:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 57653    I would double check the connection to be sure the printer is communicating with the computer and I would pull up the software for your printer and try running a test. Also....maybe try restarting your pc?? I am NOWHERE near a computer expert, those are just the things I would do....lol just to let you know.
Date: 3/4/2004 7:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 46530    This is a standard error if the computer cannot get a response from the printer. Check BOTH ENDS of the connection to make sure that they are secure. Make sure the printer has paper, and does not have a paper jam. As Mrs Strider says, sometimes your printer is telling you something (if it has such a display panel) pressing enter usually clears errors of this sort
Date: 3/6/2004 7:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 62593    Sometimes a paper jam can cause that-- It can throw the ink cartridges out of line and confuse the printer. You can try re-positioning them and make sure that there are no print jobs backed up and waiting. You might have to delete the ones that are backed up in queue waiting ~Satori Crush
