I'm sorry your father is being secretive in this matter. It would be better for all of you if you knew the truth and could support him. Perhaps, you should get him alone and tell him how you feel. Tell him how it bothers you not knowing the truth. He is probably trying to "protect" you and the rest of the family. If he knows that hiding the truth actually causes more anxiety than knowing it, maybe he will tell the family his condition. My dad had this illness too. He lived 16 1/2 years with it at a time when survival was rare. My prayers and thoughts are with you. If you need someone to talk to send me a message.  |
