Tuesday..... it's only Monday in disguise.
I arrive to work early to grab a cup of coffee in the employee lounge, and behold... no non-dairy creamer. Taking my cup in hand, I make my way down to the hallway of various offices in search of one that may possess the the supply. Afterall, what's coffee without a mate?
I was about to make my way into one of the co-worker's cubilcle when out pops my boss, and an elderly gent.
"There's Larry"... my boss began. Too late to turn back now, I should have drank it black like a man.
Before I knew what was happening, I was horn-swaggled into being the plant tour guide. Some of you may understand this, caffiene plays an important role in how I start my day!
Joe was a one of many employees that work for our company, he's from the east coast out here for a visit and thanks to connections from his boss and my boss, he thought it would be just dandy to have a look 'round the place.
After breif formalities, we were on our way. "Have fun you two" quipped my boss. "And stop by my office on the way back". I really must remember to do something nice for my boss come April Fool's day.
Well, about about an hour of walking and talking, I made the attempt to work our way back to the boss's office. Trying to round up a greased pig would be easier. Joe just loved making comaprisions between his plant and mine.
Yadda, yadda, yadda. And my coffee is stone cold fer sure.
Well, we finally made it to the boss's office and Joe was about to make himself comfy in one of the chairs nearby when the phone rang. It was his sister, who was waiting outside in the car. Along with Joe's wife. I guess they thought we had put Joe to work.
After Joe said goodbye to my boss, I graciously escorted him to the front. Once outside there was Joe's sister and wife standing by the car, camera in hand and I could swear that I was walking the red carpet at the Oscars.
Such commotion and fuss was being made over me, and I am thinking to myself, I am going to be a part of this family's photo album. And some time down the road, many years from now, some of thier kin is gonna look at these pictures and wonder who the heck I am. I was begining to wonder if I should ask them to take me along back to the east coast, maybe get a home cooked meal!
I hope no one starts crying.
So I bid them a fond farewell, and thanked them for visiting. They were nice, and I still ponder over what will become of the pictures they took of me and Joe. Guess I am part of the family.
