The Joker --------Devils Road------------

It danced through your veins and made you quiver.
Made you shiver until all turned into ice.
You know I'll hold your hand while they drag the river.
Giver, I am. Giver of what brought you mercy tonight.

I cuddled you in the undertow...
Know that I'll watch the grass grow over your plot.
In waves of rhythm, misfortune did flow.
And no, even if you may wish it, I'll never be caught.

Now off I go, into the distance and beyond.
Fond of me you were. Fool. But now, you're gone.
Ah, in my malicious game you were but a insignificant pawn
Into who's casket I softly whispered, "Dearest husband...I finally won."

It was a race, wasn't it? I turned out to be the best.
It was a race to see which one of us would be the first to "go."
You said it in jest and met your eternal rest,

Through Me.

But tell me, who Will ever know?

Really, Who Will Ever Know?

Date: 6/7/2004 8:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 13824    I wonder, do you listen to music? i hope that is not a stupid question. i have many friends that don't. If you do who and what kind do you listen to? one more question, what inspired you?
Date: 6/13/2004 11:20:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58809    Hi. I do listen to music. I listen to folk, blues, indie, big band, and some...some rock. Some examples would be Koko Taylor, Fielding, Eric McFadden, Glenn Miller, and Ponticello. What inspired me to write this song was a CD by Jill Tracy ( www.jilltracy.com) entitled Diabolical Streak. She is a genius in the area of dark or "goth" rock music.
Date: 6/20/2004 7:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 33286    ok, i like your style girl. dark poetry has always been a favorite theme of mine... you have a great start at being an excellent writer, write more and look for more places to test out your poetry, I know a couple good sites where you get honest feedback and people who aren't afraid to point out mistakes, if you are interested...
