Date: 3/2/2004 6:18:00 PM From Authorid: 12133 I totally agree. And exactly how big of a group do they have to be, to be entitled to be termed something that is "politically correct"? I am one person, who every experience, made me who I am, so therefore, should I get special consideration, being that I am a minority of one? Do I get to choose what I am called, and yell "bigot", "racist" *-phobic"or whatever, if others do not choose to accept me for who I am? At what point will the world tell people to "just deal with it", and not expect specail consideration, because they feel they deserve special "terms" or names, or considerations, above and beyond what everyone else gets. It has to end sometime or, in trying to please everyone, they will be able to please no one. |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:21:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 I heard someone say the other day, 'has it reached the point that when little Johnny goes up to the blackboard and writes 2+2=5, that the teacher cannot say he was "Wrong" cause it might damage little Johnny's psyche for years to come'. I mean, come on people. An apple is an apple, an orange is an orange and 2 plus 2 equals 4. Always has, always will, regardless of how much Little Johnny OR his parents don't like it! Date: 3/2/2004 6:23:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 Very good point, Crash! We are only hurting ourselves and putting our head in the sand. No one knowingly wants to "hurt" another, but we must stand for what we stand for. Love and Light |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:25:00 PM From Authorid: 12133 You can't call it a "blackboard" because they make green ones, and that would be demeaning to the greenboard, to have to accept a label that does not meet its own needs, to be seperated from the rest of the world of "blackboards" and we should be receptive to the green boards feelings, or that would make us rude, not to accept the green board, and all of its differences... |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:26:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 LMAO! VERY good one! Love and Light |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:29:00 PM From Authorid: 47296 Political correctnedd came about during the Clinton era, and effected all facets of society. I was given a writen reprimand in the military due to my political incorrectness, because I had the nerve to tell someone else what I thought of Clinton, and refused to "tone down" my words when I was teaching classes. Personally, I call them like I see them, and political correctness can take the back door out. |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:39:00 PM From Authorid: 11341 I have gotten to the point where most of the time I will not state my opinion on something because all I will hear is that Im a *insert whatever word you like* for thinking and feeling the way I do. One thing that people dont understand Is just because I dont feel the same way you do does NOT mean its personal. I will not step out of my way to hurt or shame another, but how does that saying go? To thine own self be true. I will say Im proud to be a Strong White American Woman. Love me or hate me its up to you. |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:41:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 Perhaps your "political incorrectness" could have better been called treason, Two Spirit! Love and Light |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:44:00 PM From Authorid: 47296 Lightworker, I was raised "old school". It is not treason to call Clinton what he was, a draft dodging, dope smoking, skirt chasing idiot. |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:53:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 Well, being an old used to be "dope Smoker" myself, and having lived through the Vietnam War as a teenager and adult, perhaps I just see Clinton's side more than some. As for skirt chaser, it is a way to common trait of powerful men; not condoning it, just would have a hard time finding a male president if I really looked hard. Love and Light |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:55:00 PM From Authorid: 54570 Its gonna be the major downfall. Did you hear about the "Politically Correct" school the suspended a 9 year old for kissing a girl in his class. Seems it was sexual harrassment in the schools eyes. |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:57:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27403 No, I didn't hear about that, but it sounds about right! I think we have ALL gone insane, sometimes! Love and Light |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:59:00 PM From Authorid: 16442 Yep, they were playing chase in the schoolyard and he caught her and kissed her cheek and got suspended for "sexual harrassment". *rolls eyes* |

Date: 3/2/2004 7:04:00 PM From Authorid: 45630 While we can hate it now it must be remembered that the world was becoming one of hate and that it did serve it's purpose, which was to bring about tolerance of others. Just because people are no going crazy with it doesn't mean a thing. |

Date: 3/2/2004 9:14:00 PM From Authorid: 17081 Great post. People get offended too easily. Howard Stern getting taken off of some stations was because of political corectness. The Reagans movie was yanked off of CBS. Rush Limbaugh fired from ESPN because of it. I guess we are going to have to watch Full House or Leave It To Beaver. But then again, the groundhogs would complain. |

Excellent post. I have a problem with all of this too-- It seems like everyone wants to stand on their soapbox and scream that their rights have been voilated. It's sad. We've lost tolerance and compassion for other humans--and insist that our beliefs are not met with any difference of opinion. And when it does--We feel the need to destroy or remove it from view. A perfect example is the 10 commandments being taken down in court houses. You have the side of the Christians who feel that by doing so---the Will of God is being taken away-- And those who want them taken down feel that "someone else's religion" is being forced upon or being "put above" their views. The answer to this is so simple but no one wants to budge either way. To the Christians....how would you feel if soemthing from the Koran was hanging on the wall.....would you not want it taken down too? Or atleast have your Commandments put up next to it? And to the others....What is the big deal? Why can't you walk past soemthing and respect it for what it is--whether you believe in it or not? Hey...when you buy a magazine--not every article is suited for personal views... So what do you do? You turn the page. Let's turn the page on the need to be "offended". Why not choose to be "Respectful"? ~Satori Crush |
