No, I dont believe that Ouija boards are evil. The movie the Exorcist I do believe was based on a true story. Not too long ago one of my relatives said she lived a few blocks away from the house. She sais that according to the true story, an Ouija board was involved. That, plus I think Christian propaganda might have given it the bad image. And besides that, mothers who just didn't want their children to be messing around with unknown spirits? I do not think Ouija boards are evil. When you use an Ouija board, you are summoning a spirit to the board. I know of three general categories the spirits can fall under. Good; ofcourse meaning that they are kind and mean no harm. Mischevious; they like to play around with you, maybe scaring you a bit (moving furniture), or they like to lie. And then there are the Bad/Evil; they threaten you, harm you, haunt you. And Ouija boards cannot be haunted. Therefor Ouija boards themselfs are just a piece of wood, while as it is the spirits that are sumoned that might be good or bad. |

Oh, and so it is however dangerous. Use with caution. I have bought a small pack of Black Salt. Apparently, its supposed to keep out negative spirits. Whether it works or not I dont know. I got mine at a store called "Special Treasures" I think. Just sprinkle the black salt lightly in a circle around the board. |

Ouija Board is an inaminate(sp) object, inaminate objects can niether be good or evil. However, if the spirit that is behind them, that can be a different story. |
Date: 3/2/2004 12:39:00 PM From Authorid: 13546 I beleive its all how you USE the board. It can be a very helpful tool, if you know what your getting yourself into. People make them "evil" when they DON'T know what they are doing. I myself am not comfortable using one, but I think if you know how to handle yourself, and know what your doing, they are perfectly fine. |
Date: 3/2/2004 2:08:00 PM From Authorid: 11723 Ouija boards are about as evil as say...Dungeons & Dragons. |
Date: 3/2/2004 3:56:00 PM From Authorid: 62367 I had my Mom's oija board that dated back to the 30's when she was a child. She played with it with no problems and I played with it as well. A few years ago, I felt uneasy about it and trashed it. Better safe than sorry. |
Date: 3/2/2004 4:08:00 PM From Authorid: 53155 i personally dont feel they are evil, but there are some rules you have to follow. I it all the time. |
Date: 3/2/2004 5:54:00 PM From Authorid: 20956 i dont really know if they are evil but i find the whole concept a bit unnerving. personally wouldnt be too keen to use one |
Date: 3/2/2004 6:00:00 PM From Authorid: 49132 I dont think there evil at all.If you are not careful and take the right precautions then you have a chance of something evil coming throught. But the Ouija board is just a board. Its a tool.I use ouija boards and nothing bad ever happened. One thing I have learned though is that if you use a ouija board and you think evil or are very very skeptikil then its like asking for a spirit to lie or evil to come through. |

I cant believe that people really think that this thing is something more than a cheezy piece of cardboard with writing on it. Read through these posts for crying out loud. None of the stories make any sense, you actually see people catching themselves in a lie mid paragragh and try to backstep. Why they just dont start from scratch is beyond me. All stories tend to fall into following schema: Blah blah blah....and he said he was not evil...blah blah blah....and i could feel it touching my shoulder/face... and it was really weird.... I forgot to say goodbye and/or I asked it for a sign and the ghost kept following me and/or nothing happenned. To which the replies are: You should always say goodbye and/or you should never ask a spirit to show signs and/or you should turn your life to Christ and/or all the spirits are evil don't trust them. What killed me was one story written by a preteen using a combination of TRL and MTV Raps lingo to describe how a ghost almost killed her and her friends. The suprising thing about it was that you had adults responding to this child as if it really happenned. I really do hope it does not stop however, it provides a good source of entertainment. |
Date: 3/3/2004 11:14:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 Hi all, thanks for the replies so far In regards to the last post- Yes, many of the stories on here do seems typical, such as the "I didn't say goodbye properly" or a spirit with some cheesy name like "old bill". It seems that the people that replied here have common sense. |
Date: 3/3/2004 5:46:00 PM From Authorid: 55903 At last! a post about the ouija that is not preaching about how it is evil! I have been doing ouija for most of my life, and nothing bad or evil has come of it! ~~ |
Date: 3/4/2004 8:18:00 AM From Authorid: 11097 Okay, this is very interesting! I had very bad experiences with Ouija Boards...and they worked too well for me. Since I was a little girl I could sense things and see things that shoulnd't be, and I have dreams that scare me most of the time. Even now at the age 19 I still sense things, I am very sensitive to the spiritual world. The board started working for me when I was about 14/15 and it became an obsession. I have seen things while playing it and things have happened. One night me and my two cousins were playing with it and there was no harm done and we put it away. The next morning my father was yelling at me because every electric item in the house was on...all the lights, ac, heat, radios, televisions...everything. It was in the middle of the summer so I was a bit scared by this and we went back to the board and it spelted out "ha ha ha" whether that be true... it got worse and it began to call itself "the prince of darkness" and the mover worked off the board, on a table even. Weird things around the house began to happen and I began to change. The last time I played it I explained in another post a feeling of fire passed through me and released me after I began to pray to Jesus. Now, I never did anything to provoke things like this from happening and often it was out of fun we would play. I believe some people are very "open" to the spiritual world and this Ouija Board is a sort of channel. Perhaps it had something to do with me and my nature (spiritual nature) or maybe there really is something deceiving behind the whole thing. I dont know, but my experience was enough to scare me into never touching one again, and trying to show others what could happen. This is an interesting post and I know there are many others with different views from me, but I am telling the truth about my experiences, and I was never alone. It so strange, how a little board and mover can cause so much trouble...thanks for sharing, |
Date: 3/6/2004 12:05:00 PM From Authorid: 62085 exactly princess of light, notice that people who have no problems with the board have totally sold out to satan. It is when you begin to move to God or question the board, that is when all hell breaks loose. |

Date: 3/13/2004 2:16:00 PM From Authorid: 62599 People getting carried away, I'm only fourteen and have used the ouija board alone many times yet never does anything bad really happen. Sometimes I get responses sometimes not. No matter how many people say the ouija board is evil, it's just a toy. It's just a toy. DOn't get so carried away with this. |
Date: 3/13/2004 2:21:00 PM From Authorid: 62599 I'm skeptical ouija boards actually do anything. What is it about a ouija board that makes spirirts come to it. There just toys, a game of chance, really. The chance that you'll get an understandable messages. Toy companies that create ouija boards don't know how to summon spirits, yet this board they made has mysterious powers that somehow summon spirits. I mean, come on.......... |
Date: 3/14/2004 6:47:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 Yes, that is a very valid case. Which makes me ask why the ouija board is treated differently to other divination methods, or games! |

Look on ebay and search for "Haunted Ouija" and read those stories that may change your opinion, I do not believe they are evil but that you can accidentally or purposely contact evil, but if you know what you are doing, the spirits should become irrational or harmful |
Date: 4/17/2004 10:28:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 60940 Many people sell ouija boards on ebay titled "haunted" as it sells a lot better. I've done it myself. Don't believe everything you hear. |
Date: 9/6/2004 2:08:00 PM From Authorid: 1461 OUIja's are evil.....period. The movie the exorcist was based on a true story, and of course a ouija board was involved. The ouija is a tool of deception to trap your soul....all methods of spiritual divination is dangerous..... |
Date: 11/3/2004 6:38:00 AM From Authorid: 62926 I wouldn't use one. LOL. |
