The Waters....Midnight Momma

things were so right and the love was so real
then this flood has approached us now how do we deal
the waters seem so deep will we sink to the bottom
or will we make it to the top of the hill

life as we new it will never come back
but the love that we have can we keep it on track
this is the wonders of my mind
i am sorry if you think this is a crime

the love flowed like no love before
now that the flood has come it destroyed the door
it came with no knock just let it's self in
all i could think was god don't let this be the end

we have come so far in our life
that i hope this will be just one more strife
for us to survive

the test have been many
far to many to count
so i think that our love is strong enough
to make it with no doubt

the waters have started to re seed and things seem calm
but it makes one wonder what is coming at dawn
i look at you every night and i hope that we can fight
for the love that we have and then i whisper goodnight

i reach across to just feel your touch
the warmth of you body next to mine
can make it seems as there is no time

but i can hear the waters turn below the floors
so i reach over and slam the door
i will not let them make this the end
for i will decide when to let it in

as far as i am concerned the water will always
stay out life is full of water and winds
it is our choice to let them in or keep them out

so look at your life and see what's before you
because to be quite honest that flood could be before you
remember to slam that door so things like this don't happen
if you don't you better believe that you will sink and not be able to swim.
