HELP!! I'm losing my voice!! ----- +Lady_Blaze+

Ok, this is not cool!! I need to use my voice! I'm just barely getting over the flu, a bad case, too, and now this! *feeling crummy* I'm assisting with singing for a musical in a couple of days and I'm beginning to panic... *breath, breath, Lady_Blaze..*

I've tried lots of things, like sucking on cloves, lemon tea, gargling with salt water...that I really don't like, but it seems to help.

What would you recommend I do to hasten this along??

(here I can be heard without verbally saying anything!) :-p

Date: 2/16/2004 8:16:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56840    Tea, yes, tea.. I actually really like tea, so that isn't that bad of a thing!
Date: 2/16/2004 8:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    Don't try and talk....and I thought it was tea with honey you were suppose to use
Date: 2/16/2004 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 45948    Coming from a girl who loses her voice at least 3 times a year, this works. Honey and a shot of whiskey. I know it's nasty, but it works and like someone else said DON'T TALK unless you absolutely have to. I know it's frusterating, but it helps. My voice usually returns within 24-48 hours after this. Hope this helps some. Love,
Date: 2/16/2004 8:38:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56840    Ahh, tea with honey.. Really, anything with tea is good to go!! Yep, yep, I once lost my voice to the point where I was sucking on honey for the better part of the day...that was interesting, people commented on the honey bottle, the hunny bear shape.. Hehe.. Honey..
Date: 2/16/2004 8:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56840    Whiskey? Hmm, I don't know what my parents would think about that one.. I kinda wish we had that in the house, seeing as how you say it gets rid of it pretty fast.. My, my, I've never heard of such a fast way to cure it! :P Thanks for stopping by, Becky and AngelEyez! *croaks*
Date: 2/16/2004 9:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 27046    Shut up and let your voice rest ...LOL! There is also a product called throat coat that you should be able to grab at the pharmacy, it's over the counter but they tend to have it stocked more than the supermarket does.
Date: 2/16/2004 9:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    relax! if it's gone strssing wont bring it back... but i will say when i had the flu i lost my voice for a week

Date: 3/8/2004 6:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 62593    I know eaxctly what you're feeling right now. I'm a singer in a band and sometimes I'll be sick and still have to sing 4 hours on Friday and 4 on Saturday. There's alot of tricks you can do.

It's a throat spray for singers. It works miracles.

Another good idea is to bol water and stand over it, breathing in the steam.

Your best weapon though is your mind. It truely does become mind over matter. ~Satori Crush
