Date: 2/16/2004 5:17:00 AM From Authorid: 53961 When I was a waitress many times I would have to bite my tongue when customers were rude. Fortunatly the nice ones made up in number for the not so nice. I often had to remind myself that perhaps they had just driven many miles and were very tired or perhaps had had a bad day and perhaps I was the "lucky" person to receive their vent, through no fault of my own. I found that "killing with kindness" often softened the chill in the air and they would even left a tip afterall, when I just knew there was no hope from that table. Reminds me of that one quote, "If you see a person without a smile, give him one of your's". Thanks for sharing and reminding. |
