As a proud man walked towards the gate, Holding his hand out, Peter said, "Wait' Your name must be on this list," As he pointed to a book beyond the mist.
"I assure you sir, my name is there, Look it up, I'm Jean (John) Pierre--" With a motion of pride, ol' Jean took a bow "Right you are," said Peter. "This way now!"
And beyond the gates, the cities did gleam, With silver fish dancing in the golden stream. When two brass doors of enormous size Opened up before them, and much to Jean's suprise,
There was no great welcome or parade in his name! His ancestors didn't run to him, but hid in shame! For projected on the walls for all to see Was a moment of each sin that found Jean guilty.
The tears began to fall without missing a beat.. Pride vanished as Jean Pierre fell to his feet. When suddenly a hand gently touched Jean's head And in the sweetest voice, Jean winced as this was said:
"Each sin condemned you, you poor, weak man, But you called unto Me, so here is My Hand."
And Pierre looked down and saw right through, His heart overflowed with love anew! He remembered Jesus' sacrifice for all of man-- And his own faith which had waivered now and again,
And realized his own unworthiness and rank.. Then suddenly all the walls went blank! And Jesus said, "Welcome home my child," And all Jean Pierre could do was smile.
He was then joined by family and friends, Their time apart had come to an end. And if you believe that this story's true, You might as well, because it could happen to you! :)
Do you know Jesus? If not, He's a great guy to know. He's got connections ;)
