potential-noun-the inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or coming into being. Potential. This, supposedly, is what each one of us has inside us. The ability to go beyond what we are doing presently, to achieve higher standards, and in my view, to ultimately disappoint ourselves with the realization that we're not as talented or intelligent as we thought.
It's the ultimate betrayl of ourselves; we delude outselves into thinking that we're special somehow, that things will turn out differently because it's us. Then we realize that our potential was not as great as we thought it was, and settle back into our mediocre routine and attempt to block out dreams and what ifs; because we know our full potential, and we realize that it's not enough.
