*~* The Grammys - Are You Watching? - Feedback? - Agree or Disagree? *~* Hey,Hey,Paula

Just sittting here watching the Grammys and thought I'd get you all's feedback on the show. What do you think so far?

My favorite part so far was when they showed Luther and he spoke and sang to us. Still gives me chills and misty eyes. What a man with a voice!

An Alicia Keyes - whoa! Bless Celine Dion for fighting with bad sound equipment and pulling off an awesome performance of Luther's song!

I thought it was lame for Fifty Cent to walk through when his competition got the award -

One commercial I hadn't seen before upset me. It was the kids with the bars of soap in their mouths from saying a bad word when they saw a car that was hot. Plezzzz, get rid of the junk advertisers! Our youth deserve better recognition than that!

Well, back to the show! Love the Beatles' award! Long deserved!

Really a good show with outstanding entertainment! Keep it up and keep it clean!

Date: 2/8/2004 7:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 15157    I agree with all you said in your post!...and UGH! at that commercial bout those kids...Love the Music!
Date: 2/8/2004 7:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    Christina Aguilera is Beautiful, but geez why'd she have to go and steal an outfit from AC/DC for her performance? I think it was really rude during Celine Dion's tribute to Luther that the behind the scenes people didn't bother to work out the kinks in the microphone and such, that was really rude.
Date: 2/8/2004 7:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 11097    I've been watching it since it started...wow! It's been awesome! There were some performances that blew me away- Celine Dion, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguilera (I love her) I also enjoyed the White Stripes, he was awesome on the guitar! Some very memorable moments indeed, and woohoo! for Evanesence ! I love music and I am enjoying the show so far !
Date: 2/8/2004 7:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    It is really good and keeps ya watchin'!
Date: 2/8/2004 7:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 27403    I thought Janet should have been able to give the award that she was supposed to! Love and Light
Date: 2/8/2004 7:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I didn't even know it was on LOL
Date: 2/8/2004 7:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 32193    nother 30 minutes till it comes on for me lol
Date: 2/8/2004 7:36:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    I think Luther's family was uncomfortable with her doing it after last week's fiasco.
Date: 2/8/2004 7:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    It is good! We are recording.
Date: 2/8/2004 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 15157    I am so glad Evanescence won that New Artist award!!!
Date: 2/8/2004 8:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 43807    so am i kiki... i have just absoulutly have fallen in for them.
Date: 2/8/2004 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 10110    Yeah I am watching, and I just saw Evanesence win a grammy for best new artist...they really deserved it. Lol and I don't think it was nice of 50 to walk on stage like that. Ugh, but anyway. =)
Date: 2/8/2004 8:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    becareful with these posts it JUST started here so i don't know the winners... though i'm mostly just watching to see the dresses and hairstyles and such*L*
Date: 2/8/2004 8:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    I was so moved by the ending of Yoko Ono's speach. If John were here tonight, he'd say : Come Together, Give Peace a Chance, & All We Nee Is LOVE!! But, I thought that Sting, Dave Matthews and Vince Gill butchered a wonderful Beatles' song...I would've enjoyed Prince )Mr. Botox??) more without Biance...and feel she goes a lil' overboard with her strings, you know, the whoa-e-o-e-ay-e-ay-e-ay-yeayeyeayeyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....you know...I LOVED OUTKAST AND ALL THE FUNK!! And Christina, Alicia, as well as Sarah McLaughlin and Alison Krauss blew me away!! And the White Stripes ROCK!!! I loved the show...I loved how they combined Sean Paul with Sting, and the Foofighters with Chickorea...I love the dway they illustrated orchestration...this to me felt like a monumental moment in time!!! And Justin Timberlake really ROCKED!!! I still love him, and forgive his unknowing involvement in last week's scandal. I think a big thumbs down should go to the sound people...but I guess mistakes happen...too bad it was to Celine! She did very well regardless!! I wish I had recorded this show. Before my last move, I was actually fighting for a music program in my son's school...tears rose to my eyes when the director of the Grammy's brought the problem to a national audience. It's complete and total B.S. that our children are getting less than we did twenty years ago when everything seems to have progressed so far! Thanks for giving us a forum to talk about one of the most important things in life...Music appreciation! I wish I could remember exactly what Carol King said about songwriters and musicians...but it comes down to this...life would be mighty boring without the sound of music!
Date: 2/8/2004 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    oh yeah and TOTALLY>>Congrats to Amy and her group Evanescence!!! I bought the CD and recommend it to all...I was just sad that Maroon 5 wasn't reconized...
Date: 2/8/2004 9:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    Sad I never heard of Warren Zevon until I saw his documentary on PBS that went through his last recording before he died of cancer. Wonderful talent!
Date: 2/8/2004 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    me either Paula...if they do a re-run of the show on PBS and you happen to catch the time and date it airs, give me a hollar, would you? He seemed to have a wonderful group of friends
Date: 2/9/2004 1:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 39370    I only watched about 15 minutes total lol. I'm not really into award shows, and I only watch them if someone I really like is on there. Like tonight I only watched it cause I heard the Beatles were on there for the award thing. The only other part I watched was the beginning when those guys were singing "I Saw Her Standing There" which I hated their version cause not only could they not sing a simple Beatle song well, they butchered the lyrics (I saw her dancing there?) lol.
Date: 2/9/2004 2:55:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    I will have to say this is the best awards show I have seen in a long time. I thought the performances were great and we were entertained very well. I thought they had cleaned it up and perhaps gotten the message after last week's Super Bowl fiasco and prior awards shows with unnecessary foul language which pushed the button on acceptance. Perhaps the thousands of letters and other means of communication sent to the networks did not go on deaf ears this time. Kudos to all who complained and demanded better and more family friendly. We taped it and it will be saved to watch from time to time as a good show to remember.
Date: 2/9/2004 8:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 27741    GO KYLIE!!! Good luck taking over the U.S. like you have the rest of the world!
Date: 2/9/2004 10:49:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53961    Everytime some network shows the Luther clip today I still get chills when he sings. Awesome! So glad he is doing so well and there to prove it.
