They should, besides some of the biggest crooks are in office already and they just have the right resources from higher ups to not get busted. |

And they should especially get the right while in jail because the right decision makers may make the decision not to kill them. |

i think if they are serving their sentence they should not be allowed to vote, but once it is served they should be allowed to |

Depends on the criminal record...I agree with the fact if you've been convicted of a felony (the general law) that you have forever given up your right to vote....you obviously don't respect your country enough to do right by it and it's citizens so why should you have a say in it?.....As for the second offense thing in arizona...I hadn't heard of that.. |

I think they should have the right to vote, only after they've served their time in jail. |

While a person is in prison they should lose the right to vote. However, when a person is released it is said that they have paid their debt to society and should resume their rights. It is not fair to send someone to prison for punishment and then continue that punishment when the term is ended. And I agree with B monkey. |

Well, I am one of these people, so thank you for your support (especially you, Koolade . I have grown so disenchanted with anything "political" anyway, so even if I did have my right to vote, I am not altogether sure I would exercise it, but that is beyond the point. I honestly cannot fathom what the rationale for this law is other than to keep people like me from voting in candidates who might (gasp!) actually push for changes in the law. The issue isn't disrespect for our country. It is disagreement with our country, which we do have the right to have. Besides, one of the ideas behind incarceration is supposedly to rehabilitate people. Is that rehabilitation? To make someone who gets out of jail/prison to now not be a contributing voice in society? We're expected to contribute to society in other ways, why not in voting? God Bless. |

I agree with Koolade, while in prison no, but after they're released they should have the right to vote again. |

I believe that once you have served your time, then you should have a right to vote. While in prison, no, you shouldn't have a right to vote. |

As a convicted felon a person gives up many constitutional rights most people enjoy, that is part of the punishment for the crime. A convicted felon in prison or on parole should absolutely NOT have the right to vote. |

More then just the convited fellons in FL were prevented from voting, the FL government collected a VERY broad list of convited criminals, in some instances only matching the first initial and the last name, and people didn't have a chance to get their rights status corrected before the election.... I don't someone who is in jail should be able to vote, but if they have served their time and are "rehabilitated" then why not?... |

they should not have any rights while they are in prison. and depending on the crime they commited i think some should not have the right after they get out of prison. "career" criminals shouldnt have any rights and child molesters and rapists shouldn't either. i'm probably sounding like a real witch but i just think if you go out and commit a crime you should have to pay the price. a lot of people don't pay at all or nowhere near enough. |
