School's Out, Part 1: School's Out for Summer -=+GG+=-

Note: This is a story adaptation of a script I'm writing. Keep in mind, it is meant to be a horror movie, so it's not exactly gonna be for the faint of heart. Hope you enjoy!

June 19th, 2003. 3:00 p.m. It was a warm day in Brookford, Connecticut. The kids from Sewell Elementary were already at the park, even though it'd only been 10 minutes since they got out of school for the summer. The teens from Wilde Middle School and High School were flocking to their houses, to finally be able to ride bikes and hang out without worrying about the Spanish test the next day, or whether Mrs. Cromwell would finally go nuts. Though it wasn't that they had nothing to worry about. That, they knew.

"Well, Cam, I heard that the dude had a big knife, and you couldn't see his face, and he was dressed all in black or something." Drew Eastwood was a pretty 14-year-old girl who had lots of friends, one of which was Camryn Farmer, who was walking wih her. "Ah, Drew, they're just tryin' to scare ya. Don't freak out." Cam brushed a few stray strands of her choppy black hair back and looked up to Drew. It was easy to be jealous of Drew, she thought. Blonde hair, light blue eyes. Lots of guys liked her, but there was only one guy for her, and it had been so for two years. "Tom almost got KILLED, okay?? Carly and Justin and Sonia are all gone, and Eddie's just barely hanging on. Right before he slipped into his coma he swore he saw the face of the killer. I don't think he's kidding." Drew got a flushed look on her face, as though she had just been embarassed. "Oh, Drew. Tom'll be okay. He's sticking in there. It'll be alright."

"Ohhhhh! You just got SERVED, man! I rock, I rock..." Kevin rolled his eyes and turned to Otto, who was currently doing a victory moonwalk on the floor. "Oh, woo-hoo, you beat me in Super Mario Brothers. What do you want, a medal?" Otto stopped doing the Michael Jackson and grinned. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Sore Loser. Didn't mean to rain on your parade." One look at Otto and you knew there was something coming. Lanky, geeky yet humorous, and all in one fourteen-year-old package. Kevin seemed more easy to figure out. He was athletic looking, a happy guy. They were an interesting pair of best friends. "Whatever. So, dude, did you hear about-" Otto held up a hand. "'Course! Who hasn't? Some pretty serious business goin' down." What an understatement, Kevin thought. "I feel so bad for Tom. He's in the hosital right now...he must've been through a lot." Otto considered this. "True. But maybe we should lighten up, for now. School’s out, heat’s well… heating, and the ladies are at the beach!" Kevin laughed. "You and your ladies. You've never even had a girlfriend." Otto glared at him. "Thanks." Otto noticed that Kevin was staring at a newspaper on the floor. "That stuff freakin' you out?" Kevin looked up. "Maybe it’s the recent rash of killings in the neighborhood. The fact that there may be a pattern that we don’t know about, and I could be next. That Tom almost got killed and is in a mental ward not speaking. Can it be that I haven’t had any sleep for a week after Carly got killed? Just take your pick, Otto." Otto cocked his head. "No sleep? Why?" Kevin sighed. "I used to go out with Carly, remember? Then we broke up." Otto nodded. Ohhhh, he thought. Poor guy. "Did you guys talk before she...um..." Kevin got up and walked toward the window. "Yeah. We talked. She apologized. You know." Otto thought for a moment. "Personally, I think we have someone to visit. Someone by the name of Tom..."

-Whew! Reply if you want, Part 2'll be coming soon!
