Don`t give up hope for Carlie just yet!...There are too many bleeding hearts out there rooting for this guys rights. The judicial system is way outta wack when it comes to things of this delicate nature...If they push too hard...they could be forced to release him on a lesser charge....so they must handle it delicately. Every minute counts when a child goes missing though. God help those looking for her...that they find that poor girl! |

The reasons why we have these laws and consitutional rights, is that it is because of what the British did to the Americans when America was under British rule, that is before the American Revolutionary war. After the war, we made up what is today called the consitution. Here is a news flash for those in Congress, WE ARE NOT UNDER BRITISH RULE anymore, never have in the past 220 years. I am NOT saying that we need to throw away the consitution or to say that it is outdated. We need to change it. I agree that we need to be fair incase they are innocent, but if they either confess or if there is indisputable evidence that the person did do it, then I think we need to get whatever info we can. |

forget rights. thump on the noggin a few times and they will talk. or let the families have a few moments alone with them. when it is obvious, like in dru's case, that they had something to do with it, i don't think they should have any rights. |

I do not understand why we cannot use sodium pentathol (sp), better knwown as "truth serum" on suspected criminals. ESPECIALLY when another person's life is at stake. I mean, if he did not do it, then precious time is being wasted. If he DID do it, he would tell them where she is! Love and Light |

I will reply & then read the responses. There is a child, in jepordy right now. The suspect should be pumped up with Sodium Penethol, or hypnotized & questioned. Maybe it sounds like I am stepping on the rights of "suspects". But, the victim's rights are more important to me. I am praying that she is still alive. |

I absolutely agree with everyone who has replied here. And, yes, maybe a few bumps on the noggin', or a little torture might convince this *non-G rated nasty name* to spill the beans. |

So you want suspects to be tortured... Why not go the whole hog and execute them on the spot too, to hell with the judicial system?!? Jeez... I'm not familiar with this case, but in others, aren't people suspects because they are SUSPECTED of committing a crime? It doesnt mean they have, and most of the time the police find one or two 'suspects' per case who are later released without charge. If you were in that situation, wrongly committed of a crime, would you want police to torture you? |

NO!!! You are angry. Angry people do not think clearly. Everyone has rights! That is (suposedly) the fundamental idea of America. I have nothing but compassion for Charlie and her family but justice requires patience. You can't just torture someone if they don't cooperate. Isen't what we're all so mad at Sadam Hussein for? Now you want our law enforcement agencies to start doing it? Everyone has the right to not incriminate themselves. And that right must be preserved in case you are one day falsely accused. Because sine the justice is supposedly blind, his rights are the exact same thing as yours. Also it has been proven time and again that torture does not yeild valid information. If I had, a set of thumbscrews, a syrinnge of sodium pentathol, and a few hours I could make him confess to killing Abraham Linclon if I wanted to. |

And Spirit Child, she is dead. They found her body in the parking lot of a church this morning. May God have mercy. |

that is true. My son's school had grief councilors, and all the kids came home with purple ribbons. And, yes, in my grief, I am angry. And, no, I don't really condone torture. We have the Death Penalty here in Florida. I hope, really hope, that it will appy in this case. Will it bring bac this Angel? No, but this Monster will never be able to take the life of another child. |

Our judicial system values the rights of the accused. We may find a particular person repugnant, but he remains innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. It is not necessary to use physical, mental or medical torture to wear people down: monotony or a change of sleeping schedule will also work. |
