I've had visions on many occasions. I have to say it is one of the most intense things I’ve ever experienced. The vision comes in about a fraction of a second but you recall detail and remember it like you were looking it at for hours. What I believe they come from? To tell you the truth, I started getting visions when I started to actively believe in GOD. But I still receive my visions and my faith has changed dramatically. What I truly believe is that you don’t have to believe in god but find that inner peace to calm your mind, body and soul to receive the precognitive or retrocognitive vision. Its all about opening yourself up to receive the information. Some of us receive visions right before we sleep or in our dreams. I believe as we sleep we are gradually opening ourselves us to psychic receptiveness therefore allowing for information to pass through our minds. I believe there is also an unseen force all around 24/7 - not auras mind you or that of spirits or angels. Just that unseen energy - possibly thought energy. it’s a rocky theory that I’m trying to comprehend more on as I think on it. By opening ourselves up whether it be by meditation or some other means we are able to tap into this unseen energy force by sheer force of will - by concentration. Now that I think about this more is does make sense. There are the Akashic Records. Which are (supposedly) records of every possible thought and action that every human does. It is possible that these records not only hold past, present and future recordings. Future actions based on the past and present imprinted ones. My thoughts Matt aka |

As to the scripture itself, people have been experiencing visions and things of that nature since the beginning of time. Every religion speaks of prophecy and visions of such. Matt aka

Yes, I've had a few visions and dreams come true. It used to frighten me but I believe God allowed me to have them for a purpose so I now try to welcome them instead of stop them. Interesting post |

I've never had a waking vision. I had the most intense dream of my life, 3 months after my father's death. I had taken the death very hard. I went to sleep in my apartment on a Saturday night, and opened my eyes in the entry way of my parents home in Iowa. My father stood there wearing the suit he had been buried in. All I could say was "But your dead!". He told me he was well that he had been cured. The dream ended then. I woke up on Easter morning. I felt so happy and joyful. Its very hard to describe. I believe that I spoke with my father and that he is well and in the afterlife. I have never had such an experience since. |

Yes, I have had many, many visions. When I was a small child (about 4-5 years old), I saw a bunch of Angels, and a person I believe was Jesus Christ, hovering outside my bedroom window. I was awake at the time. I have had deeply Spiritual dreams all my life. BTW-this is an excellent post |

Thanks for your comment Mrs.Strider! I believe also a bit of intuition is a factor in having or experiencing a vision or dream, maybe it makes you more open to receiving them... ... ((hugs)) |

Thanks for commenting You Choose! I felt the same way at first when I started to have visions and dreams, I used to be so afraid of them because it was something I had never experienced before and I was never taught about... but once I overcame that fear a new feeling of enlightnment suddenly came upon me and I am more open and sensitive now to certain things. I pray God continues to show you all that you can learn ((hugs)) ... |

Thanks for stopping by Peridot Cat! I am sorry about the loss of your father ((hugs)) I believe when God sees us struggling for understanding and comfort, He gives us signs to bring peace of mind to us. I believe that was a way of telling and assuring you that everything was and is going to be okay. My father had a dream about my mother (she passed away nine years ago) similar to one like yours, it brought him great comfort in knowing she was with God (((hugs))) Thanks for sharing, |

Boom Boom, something you said really hit me, "The vision comes in about a fraction of a second but you recall detail and remember it like you were looking it at for hours" this is so very true, it is a very intense experience which is why so many of us can remember and recall them, and describe them in full detail. I also believe sleep is a way or almost a "channel" for these visions to come through to us, like you said, when we sleep we are, "gradually opening ourselves us to psychic receptiveness therefore allowing for information to pass through our minds" very informative with lots of good and thought-provoking ideas, thanks so much for sharing! ((hugs)) ... |

I had my first vision when I was 10 years old, this was right after my mother passed away. I had fallen asleep and began to see a very bright blue light before me and I traveled closer toward it. Soon I seen darkness around this light but the light was so very beautiful I kept going. Then all sorts of beautiful colors were within that light and it began to form a tunnel. I passed through it and saw outside was the universe, I could see the stars and the earth under me, and I felt as if I was walking along glass. The feeling that came over me was something I cannot even describe, such happiness and peace. As I went through the tunnel I seen people from my family that had passed on and they were all together and smiling at me. No one moved or said anything, but I felt so welcomed. Finally I came to the end of the tunnel and I seen beyond it golden gates. But, before me was Jesus and my mom beside Him. He spoke to me through our minds and asked me if I wanted to stay there with Him and my mom....at first I accepted...but then I looked down and seen the earth, and then I seen my little brother and my father. I felt a saddness come over me, and I looked up at Jesus and said, "I'm sorry I can't stay, I must go back, my dad and brother would be to sad without me" My mom stood and just smiled and then Jesus pointed at me and said, "Then it is not your time yet" and I felt like I rewinded through everything and I woke up..... and still to this very day (im 19 now) I remember that, and cherish it. I have also had "nightmare visions" about revelations which caused me to have night terrors, but I feel it was either me being to worried or not knowing how to handle the fear within them. Thanks everyone for sharing! .... |

that's a cool whatever it was but if you were asleep wouldn't it be a dream and not a vision? |

Thanks Base ... yes it could be considered a dream, but I also believe visions can be obtained through dreams, I guess its what you believe and how you look at it; thats where faith comes in Thanks for stopping by, I enjoy your comments! |

Yes, and I beleive God gave it to me before I was born again, just to show his power and might and compassion. I was laying on the couch, my husband was sitting in his chair reading his bible, he had some christain music on, * I was not christian didnt really want to hear it* But a song came on, and it some how reached me. So I listened to it again. Shortly after hearing it the second time, I was just laying there listening to the music and suddenly the ceiling opened up. i saw myself in this big room, and I was preaching the word of God to people. I ,being awake, started to laugh as I just couldnt see me preaching the word of God, plus it kind of scared me what had just happened. My husband asked me what I was laughing about but I told him nothing, but later that night I did tell him, and later that night I asked Jesus into my heart. This is the short version,LOL, I made a post on it a while back. Love ya POL. mom |

I once had a phenomenal dream were an invisible powerful being ( God ? ) was explaining the secrets of the universe . He explained everything in a way a normal person could understand . When I woke up I so desperately wanted to write everything He told me , but I couldnt remember anything . I was in this room with huge mechanical wheels . It was like being inside an antique clock . I had this vision while I sat in bed once late at night . There were two heads flaoting in my room , one looked like a monk and the other looked like a business man . They were both saddened and disappointed , most likely in me . They are messages and they are signs ! I welcome them and try to do their intent . Razzy aka |
