-POEM-
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Muslim duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Allah to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
Now do you have the time to pass it on?

Funny how simple it is for people to trash Allah and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Allah says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything that Allah says.

Funny how someone can say "I believe in Allah" but still follow Shaytaan
(Who, also "believes" in Allah).

Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what Allah thinks of me. Are you thinking?

“An Intelligent Person Is One Who Is Constantly Thinking About And Preparing For Death”

"O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allah, you cling heavily to the earth. Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter. But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter."
(Quran 9:38)

-POEM-

Ya Allah
Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair.
and wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, a smile.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 legs, the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
And then I knew, he couldn't hear.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears, the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

Date: 2/5/2004 12:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 62408    I've read these exact poems before...except they were adapted to fit the Catholic religion, or even just Christianity in general. Either way, the message gets through, big time. Thank you for sharing this with us. As Heavenly Poet says, when are the people of this world going to understand that there are no 'real' differences. We all still believe in one Supreme Being. I, as a Roman Catholic, call him God. An Islam would call him Allah, different names, same person. He responds to them all. He created us all. We were all created in his likeness. I went to a Catholic elementary school, and daily religion classes were part of the curriculum, and I will never forget a copy of a picture in the book. It brought tears to my eyes. It was a picture of Jesus, our savoiur, "The Messiah"... and it was made up of men, women, and children, male and female, of different races, colors, religions, nationalities, etc. Their faces made his face. Even at the tender age of 13, the sight of that picture made me want to weep. I think at that point, I truly began to understand what 'created in his likeness' truly meant. I also remember hearing once, if you want to see the face of God (or Allah, whatsoever your religion refers to your Supreme Being as), just look into the face of an elder, or a newborn baby. Both are almost equally helpless...yet one is full of the greatest wisdoms, the other ready to learn them.
If we stopped focusing on the little things like the names, and whether or not we can say things like "God" in schools...and started focusing on education of religion (meaning ALL religions) the world just might be a better place. But that's just my opinion. I have no prejudice against an entire race for what a few have done. Nor will I ever. May God, Allah, Abba, and whoever you choose to call him watch over and protect us all!
