well that small of an amount would be considered personnal use ..unless it was devided into smaller bags. So if your state has simular laws...this would be a misdemeanor. So if he's never been in trouble before, he will probably just be fined and or refered to counciling or treatment....so dont worry yourself....think happy thoughts |

I'm not a cop, but my father-in-law is, and I've known a few people who mess with that stuff. First of all, is this his first offense? Second, how much marjuana did he have in his possession. The punishments increase by how much weight there is. If it's over a certain amount (I think it's ten ounces) then the authorities consider you a dealer, because that much can be sold in smaller quantities. Dealers, of course, get harsher sentences! However, if this is his first offense, then he'll probably get a light sentence: a year, with three years probation. But that's just a guess. It also depends on how sharp a lawyer he has, and how harsh the judge is. Tell him this, and also tell him that many states and provinces have adopted the 3-strikes law: three felony offenses, and you automatically get 25 years or life in prison. This will be his first strike, and he only has two more to go!  |

Plead guilty and it's a slap on the wrist. I'm in ND so the laws might be diff in ur state, but I was 18 and got charged with possession in a motor vehicle. I got 30 days in jail, suspened for 2 years. If i got into trouble within that 2 years for a related offense, I would sit the time for both charges. However, I didnt, and now it doesnt even show up on my record.  |

Princess, they will arrest you for anything. It's just a matter of whether or not you will actually have to do the time. In most cases, if it's the first offense and just a small amount, it'll end up like my charge did. And i should clarify, I have a drug charge on my record. BUT noone can look up my record and see that charge. It's sealed (?) and can only be used against me if i get a future drug charge (which i wont). I dont intend to go that route again. |

If he was clean until now and now got popped he should quit just for bad luck alone...lol...He could get from the max to the minimum, it all depends on how good his lawyer is.....  |
