Wow..that's tough, does he work for an independent company or something?? I would ask nicely but FIRMLY one last time and let them know that if I didn't have a check waiting by the end of the day that they could expect me not to return for work the following work day..no sense breaking your butt and not getting paid, especially since he's gotten no answers as to WHY he hasn't been paid. Then, if he has no paycheck make good on the threat, plus call someone who can help him get his money such as someone from the labor board or a lawyer or both..Good Luck. |

he should approach her and say if she doesn't pay him on friday he feels that he should start looking for another job if paying him is an issue and they cannot afford it they should work on thier business practices |

Two things. A give the boss a time limit, it it is not met, find a lawer. And in the future, (if there is one with this job) Make copies of the slips. |

Definately contact the labour board. If they aren't you paying him, he should do something about it! I had similar problems (cheques coming a couple days late) but they never didn't pay me. I did have one paycheque bounce on me, and I went in on my next shift, and sat down, refusing to work until something was done about it. I got paid cash on the spot. He should try something similar, and if still nothing happens, find a new job. |

I just got off the phone with Mark and he told me that if they don't a check waiting for him (even if its just for some of what they owe him), that he's not going to work tomorrow. I really don't blame him because he's been busting his butt for this company (he usually works 7am-midnight), and he's not getting anything in return. So I do see his point of view in this problem and I don't blame him for not wanting to work for a company that doesn't want to pay their employees. It wouldn't be a big deal if his boss told Mark that something came up and they didn't have the money to pay him. If they told him something, it would be nice to be told something, instead of being left out in the cold. |

My suggestion is to keep on pestering the boss/owner anyway. Afterall, the boss expects him to show up for work, right? And Silverhour made a good comment too, contact the labor board, better business beuraue, perhaps even the state attorney about this matter. Whatever it takes, do you have a local news station that has an investigative news reporter? If so, give them a call. |

I agree with a lot of other people. Get a lawyer if it keeps up. His boss sounds like a real pain the butt. |

the only flaw with getting a laywer they will end up costing you what the whole paycheck/what your owed is for, you can always see about taking them to small claims court |

Geez, people don't work for free....if he does not get what is owed to him by Saturday, maybe he should tell his boss he is looking for another job that will pay him....also make copies of all slip runs. That way there is no mistake in what is owed to him....Maybe he should tell her he will seek a lawyer if he isn't paid soon. When he asks about his pay and she tries changing the subject, he should say sorry but I want to know about my pay.....refuse to work until he's paid.....I wish him luck with it... |

Write a letter demanding payment for services rendered. You can find legalese letters online, make 'em squirm! |

Tell Mark to find another job and to call the labor board...or to tell his boss that he's going to call the labor board if he doesn't get paid tomorrow... |
