I didn't watch tonight's episode, but Simon is very honest LOL. Not many of those people that audition can sing at all, and I am glad he tells them like it is. Good post. |

I think it's almost like a recipe. A cup of talent, a cut of personality. That doesn't sound right...umm. OK here goes. There was a girl that kicked off tonight, and I was so happy. She was a blonde girl and in a previous show you can hear Paula off camera saying that she was so annoying. Well the attitude that this girl had really got to me. You like to root for people to believe in something and nobody likes a jerk, and if someone has enough talent and maybe not enough personality, something doesn't spark just right, but maybe someone not so high on the talent has a great personality, you are sort of forgiving. I need to go to bed, this is one of my bad rambles...Great Post. |

Isn't it Simons money who is paying for their record contract? So I think, they should be kissing butt to him. Usually what he says, is the truth. And they (the contestants) don't want to hear it. |

Jenn, I have no idea....I just find it funny that he can be rude as can be to them but if they don't kiss his butt they get lectured? I think there's a huge line between honesty and being rude though. |

I didn't watch it tonight, but I have watched the other seasons. I love Simon, and I think it's funny how some of these awful singers come at him with their pitiful comebacks. |

lol i liked simon most of the time but there's a time or two he went too far. I'm guessing the one with the attitude problem was the one who was taking shots at Simon? I got a kick out of it, then again I was listening for her ability to carry a tune not her attitude. |

I'm hooked, I have to admit it. I taped it tonight and am going to watch it now. I suppose if we sat there hour after hour and listened to thousands of people come through there, one after another, we might wear tired of the wannabees who are so far off the plate with talent or attitude we might think different. Entertainment is a rough world. Simon and the others are just trying to prepare them. As an example, look at how Britney's life is no longer her own. I was wondering today if she had the chance would she do it all over again or choose a different career? They should have grown up before they walked into these auditions, because life can be harsh. I would not want to contract an entertainer, spend thousands of dollars honing their skills, to have them turn around and act like a spolied child in the public eye. There is a LOT of money involved here. Figures we can't even imagine. That, is the reality of it all. It's not to satisfy the performer; it's to give the public what they want so they will buy their product. Do you think that people would want to put money out for a performer who sang or acted like some of these yahoos? Not in my lifetime! |

This season's going to suck. And Simon is right: these people are very bland. The only two people I'm liking right now are the dwarf and the Dean Martin guy. Oh, and we can't forget: "She bangs! She bangs!" |

I watched again tonight, and I really did not care for the girl who had such an attitude!! I have seen Simon dish it out, and I have seen Simon take it! But, she tongue lashed that other guy, too, and he didn't do anything to her! And, I think show business, music business is probably about the bardest thing in the world to succeed at and these kids need to learn how to take the good with the bad without firing back; that is the real world out there, and you can't smart mouth the person auditioning you anymore than you can smart mouth your boss. And yea, she did it, but it won't be forgotten. I hope she feels good about having "told Simon off" cause she just totaled her chances for winning, I think! Love and Light |

I'm surprised by my interest this season. The last 2 I only watched the auditions and the final episode. I think I will watch the entire thing this year. I'm really enjoying some of the people. I love the red haired guy...the one who did the Dean Martin song. Scooter Girl cracks me up but she needs to polish up a little more to be an American Idol I think. And quite frankly...I LOVE Simon. He tells them like it is! Do they think the critics will be any nicer if they DO become the American Idol? It all comes with the scene... |

my boyfriend and i are really caught up in it.. I like Simon. I agree with him most of the time, because in all reality, he does tell them the truth. I got angry at him when he told a girl to lose weight, but that was the only time I actually was against him. but god.. that girl was disrespectful.. she doesn't want to hear it, so she makes low blows (yeah, it was funny.. funny as heck.. but i can see why Paula got on her case..i'm surprised she made it to the next round).. American Idol: the best comedy show ever..lol |

I think Simon is just being honest. Why give someone false hope? I think he is trying to convince some of these people that they will never have a singing career. As for that girl tonight who talked so rude to him, she had no excuse...wasn't she told in her first audition that she was one of the best? There is a difference between being cocky and rude and she crossed the line, especially since it was Paula who put her in her place. She was good so I think it was fair she got another chance. |

Well, in my opinion that is what Simon is there for and sometimes the other two judges will stick up for the performer if he is really outta line. As for the performers, the do need to respect them, at least I would because there the judges! That would ruin my chances, and plus I have always grown up that I don't talk back and stuff. But I like the show anyways:P Cool post! |

I'm addicted to this show, I love it. Simon does go over board sometimes but most of the time he's really honest. If they suck, he tells them. I can't believe that some of them actually thought they could sing in the first place, I feel bad for them, but they should have at least listened to a taped recording of themselves before embarrassing them selves so bad on tv. |

Becky, I remember that girl. Me and the girls were laughing our rear ends off. She needs to get over herself and I think her ego is one reason she got booted off. |

Like I said...difference between "honest" and "rude" IMO and I don't see how a person's weight will affect their ability to sing and though that wasn't tonight it has been something I witnessed. I see your point lightworker, I'm just one of those who'd shoot my mouth back if someone was that rude to me. It kinda surprised me that either of the others would have said anything since it didn't seeem to affect Simon one way or another |

The thing that dissapointed me the most about the show last night was how they allowed those two "so-called" models to get to the next level. The bikini model got up on stage and the first thing she said was..."I don't remember the words" and said one word. She didn't even sing at all, so how does that merit her passing that audition? She and that male model wanna-be guy were too busy swimming and playing in the pool till early morn while everyone else was busy preparing. Pathetic...that was enough to make me realize that show isn't worth watching anymore. I'm just so angry that someone could be allowed to be that rediculous and only get a pat on the back for it...just because they're models. I've only watched a couple American idol shows anyway, it's just annoying after a while. |

A question, since I am "out of the loop" of life about half the time! Is it scored only on singing? I ask because of the name "American Idol", and from the time I was a teenager a 'teen idol' was also someone who waw good looking, or had great charisma. I mean some people sang great and some people were real good looking or had great charisma, but they kind of needed some of both to be "idolized"! So, what are the requiements, if someone could tell me? Love and Light |

I love American Idol! Oh ya, that girl who was dissing Simon. She got in trouble with Paula. I don't think that's fair at all. Simon gets to say WHAT EVER he wants, yet the contestants can't. Anyways, I like scooter girl. LOL! |
