Movie: Lost in Translation Stars: Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson

One word to sum it up- Ew! I just hated this movie. I have no idea how it won any awards for anything. I actually wanted to get up in the middle of it and leave the theater. It was terribly boring and depressing, and it really made me not want to go to Tokyo- ever! There was no point to it, and if there was some sort of point they were trying to make, I missed it. Some of the parts were funny, but.. It just didn't do enough for me. When I left the theater, other than feeling relieved that it was over, I was left feeling very empty. So anyone else feel this way about it? Or something else? Am I crazy? Hehee.. Oo and the fun part! Grading! We all hated being graded in school, but we continue to use it even today.. It's just so handy, isn't it?

I give this movie, a big.. fat.. F! yes, it was THAT bad. Wait wait.. not even an F.. it gets an F-! That's impossible, but that's how bad it really was! I can't think of the last movie I disliked that much! Total waste of money. -Magenta Blue

Date: 2/2/2004 12:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    I have seen many different trailers and commercials for this movie, and none of them gave me enough of an interest to go see the movie. Now that there are reviewers saying that it is the best thing since sliced bread, I am wondering what they are drinking .... LOL.

Date: 2/2/2004 7:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 29387    Sorry, but I'd have to disagree. I think Bill Murray gave one of his best performances ever in the movie, and Sofia Coppola (this is only her second movie) looks like she's right on par with her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola. I guess it isn't for everybody's tastes, but if you watched a second time, you might get more out of it.
Date: 2/2/2004 7:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 13283    Yikes ! I wanna see it coz Bill Murray is in it . I heard nothing but good things about it . We all have different tastes . I agree with Mik12. Razzy aka
Date: 2/2/2004 9:03:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13897    hehe I know some people really liked it.. but it definitely is not for me!
Date: 2/10/2004 10:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 28989    Reminds me of when everyone raved about "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" many years ago. I finally went to it, and I almost walked out several times during the movie. I hated it, thinking it really pretentious and pointless. I renamed it, "The Unbearable Act of Sitting Through This Movie." Thanks for the review.
