because people are doing what the bible says they will do. Rom:1:30: Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Rom:1:31: Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: these THINGS are coming to pass even more so in this day and time. |

Date: 1/29/2004 9:09:00 PM From Authorid: 53961 Because we have more negative leaders and followers than positive leaders and followers... |
Date: 1/29/2004 9:43:00 PM From Authorid: 15070 Because people no longer feel the importance of a personal relationship with a God. We are loosing our role models, and leaders. Why read the Ten Commandments, when we see the opposite all around us? Lust & Greed are much more common than learning not to covet. Why keep the Sabbath Holy, when in school we are taught we don't KNOW how many days it took God to create the Earth. Better yet, what God? Evolution created the Earth, after the Big Bang. I am not saying that's what I believe, I am saying that is what we are taught. End times? I am not sure, but SOMETHINGS got to give. And soon....... |
Date: 1/29/2004 11:30:00 PM From Authorid: 62456 I think it's fantastic that god be separated from government and school. Not everyone is christian you know and people should have a choice. I think one's relationship with god or godess is a very personal one. Why cant we have wiccan prayers or jewish prayers or the tibetan book of the dead posted and in strict practise in public school? Because in America we have the freedom to practise or not practise religion in the way we want to. As for profanity I don't like it but not because of my religious beliefs. That's what I think...IsisKat |

Date: 1/30/2004 12:04:00 AM From Authorid: 13897 umm the examples of the 10 commandments and school prayer, that is the Christian god. and people use god as a slang word because it's a part of our language, our individual dialect. the intention is not to offend god or people believing in god. it's just a word, just like we use "man"... as in 'awww man'.. it's just the language. |
Date: 1/30/2004 12:16:00 AM From Authorid: 11348 I agree with IsisKat. While I do think it's sad the way the name is used in vain, I agree with the seperation of school and religion. Not everyone believes the same, so everyone should not be expected to worship the same. There are many many people who either do not believe in a God, or believe different things about him and worship different ways around him. |
Date: 1/30/2004 12:54:00 AM From Authorid: 177 Either we should have all religions represented in schools and public places...or in none of them. Why not just keep the religions in the homes, churches, mosques, temples, & synagogues? |
Date: 1/30/2004 5:57:00 AM From Authorid: 32806 Nothing to stop you displaying the ten commandments in your home, or going to church to worship. Why do you feel it necessary to force your belief on others? Openly show ALL religions AND atheism or none at all. Using the word "God" as profanity shows that person to be immature and lacking intelligence, move on and find better company. |

Date: 1/30/2004 9:19:00 AM From Authorid: 54987 I agree with Isiskat! I would like to add that no religion should be forced on people. Morals and ethics can be taught to children without threats. Unless we are mentally ill, we all have an innate sense of right and wrong. It should be nurtured in a loving way and not through threats and abuse. Morality and religion don't necessarily go together has history has shown us. |
Date: 1/30/2004 1:27:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 Not much to say except...I agree with you. |
Date: 1/30/2004 9:41:00 PM From Authorid: 15070 you know-I also have to point out that "good" things (moral behavior), really is not exclusive to the Christian Faith. "Harm None" is very much "Do Unto Others". I personally love when people express their belief. But not to the exclusion of someone elses religion. And, I still believe Religion & Government must always, IN ALL WAYS, remain seperate. Not because of any hard feelings on my part, but there is a danger when the State sponsers a Religion. |
Date: 1/31/2004 2:14:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 Although spirit child I dont agree with the interpertion of seperation of church and state, I do have to agree with you that ANY government spononsored religion would not lead to anything good. |
Date: 1/31/2004 7:12:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 39887 Well porn in newstands and magazines and on tv and computers and radio go against my religion but you don't see anyone making these people remove it, they say change the channel, look the other way, cut it off, yet the commandments can offend and they gotta go! It makes no sense.I can listen to God being said in profanity but can't read it in public on a stone. Next thing you know it will be banned from all epitaphs in cemeteries! |
