The sleep that I begin Inevitable has an end In the quiet soothing night When my head sinks into the pillow I drift away under a blanket of stars. But awaken so violenty! The alarm screeching, it never gives up And leaves me regretting ever setting it. The morning rays from the heavy sun Force and fight unto my eyes Through the window so formerly kind When I had gazed at the flickering stars Only a moment ago. If I had only stayed Under that blanket and warmth Night would surely come again. But the alarm and the sun Would have vanguished my sanity Long before that time. So I will get out of bed Beat my alarm Welcome the sun sarcasticly And live my day wanting Till the time of the moon When I may dream under a blanket of stars Once more.
